Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Hey we don’t mind being a dumping ground. But Hall will have value at 50% plus the price to pay to dump a contract. Gotta pay to play.
How about we do Jeff Skinner + 3rd for a 6th or 7th round pick?
Providing Skinner waives which I think is unlikely. We really don't need current Taylor Hall even at 3m. Hall has more trade value to a team with more cap flexibility and a different set of needs. We just had Arvidsson return and Kane is going to come back at some point. We really don't need a winger. We need a 2nd pairing RD.
If the deal the OP posted happened for the record I wouldn't be upset with it. I just don't think we'd get 50% retention on Hall and dump Jeff Skinner without it being a 2nd + prospect and I wouldn't do that.

Not at any price but 50% retention is a very good place to start the discussion.
Sam O'Reilly OR Edmonton's 2026 1st, Max Wanner OR Phil Kemp, and STL 2025 2nd for Murphy (50% retained) and Soderblom.
No thanks if the Oilers are spending those kind of assets the return needs to be better.

I think Edmonton is stuck with Skinner. I don't see a realistic trade and destination that is going to make him waive the NMC.
I think he'd be more than happy to ride the pine while the team competes for a cup. He wants the playoffs.
