great for both parties I guess. I thought yak should have stayed for the 1st month. he might have started to gel. but his attitude was horrible. he barely showed up in preseason. I get your upset but this is the big leagues. man up. Im not sure hes a good fit on the blues either.

Is that really the best Chiarelli could do? It reeks of the Seguin trade all over again (sell young player low, see them dominate).

Lol cmon man, I can write the same type of thing too:

The Oilers traded the biggest bust since Diagle and a winger who scored 65 pts for a top notch young D man, a pick, and some cap space.

Where they were drafted is irrelevant at this stage... the Oilers had to move those 2 guys out to move forward.

Hall should never have been traded the guy put up unreal points on a ****** team. Yak good riddance. but people look at the small picture makes me chuckle. how could you trade 2 1#s!!! Fans cried for years to dump the old helm and when chia finally does its wtf? Its hard to get a great return when GMs know you're desperate to restart. armchair GMs

And so ends the Yakupov in Edmonton saga.
Time to move on with a more promising group. People can mock the return but trading Yakupov was a good move regardless.

I think the bigger surprise is we the posters of HFBoards valued a player spot on for once :amazed:

But seriously, Yakupov just seems to have such a poor attitude and reading his comments about the trade confirms that. Bashing his old team on the way out is not classy or professional.

Seguin is in whole different category. Compare apples to apples not apples to oranges.

To illustrate the bigger picture, this shows how much the roster has changed since Chiarelli took over:

Is this a joke? Thats all he got? A ****ing conditional 2nd?

Sucks the leafs didn't beat it, sucks that 28 other teams didn't beat it.

I doubt Chia was really after Phochrio, so I can't imagine other teams (especially in the east) didn't have a chance to match a 2/3

It's actually pretty common for a traded player to "talk up" the city/team he is now playing for. Happens all the time, it stings but it happens.

Except Seguin was perceived as underperforming and not living up to the draft hype as a Bruin. I'm not comparing their actual talent level as that would be very silly. I'm comparing them in terms of how Chiarelli seems to sell low on young talent very quickly, which in turn hurts his team in the long run. And given the assets that EDM got in return, it seems like Chia hasn't learned much from his mistakes.

You criticized Chiarelli for the return so I asked you "What do you think he should have gotten for Yak?" and you ignored it and continued criticizing. So I'll ask again What do you think he should have gotten for Yak?

Tyler Seguin’s party lifestyle irked Boston Bruins, father says

with Eriksson going the other way

why is this always forgotten?
