Solid pickup by the Oilers as much as I hate them. Don't know if it's going to matter but they've given Stecher a decent shot and Regula is pretty much a better Stecher. Exactly the type of defenseman Oilers need, we'll see if they can make use of him.
It seems like you know a bit about him, could you please tell me his strengths and weaknesses as a player? Thanks!

If we can improve on Dermott and he can add some needed physicality when he draws in we’d be way ahead. Still need to add a top 4 guy but this and the team’s recent better defensive play should get us closer to the deadline.

Dermott has to be one of the worst defenseman I have ever seen play for this organization. How did this guy stay in the NHL for this long ?
I wonder if he should convert to forward? He got some good offensive instincts but horrid without the puck from the redline and back

Big, skates well, defends well, protects the front of the net well, makes the smart play, plays under control... Not overly physical, not flashy, but effective. You could have a good find.
Thanks, if he hits his upside who would you say his NHL comp would be?

Holy shit. Really? That's exactly who I wanted for the 4RHD. Seriously, if he's Dollar Store Bouchard I'm happy.
He's not even close to Bouchard. Only thing similar is the shot.
It seems like you know a bit about him, could you please tell me his strengths and weaknesses as a player? Thanks!
He's an extremely steady defensive defenseman. Solid in his own zone, steady and poised generally, good at handling one on ones and clearing the net front. Not overly physical but he does bang bodies a bit.

Has a fantastic big booming shot from the point, his offensive instincts are nothing to write home about but he can QB a PP reasonably well. His offense has started coming in more recent years but he's always been a steady defensive d-man.

Peak he could be a Chara or Keith-lite. Realistically I think he's more like a Campbell. If he can reproduce his offense in the NHL he'll be a very very good pickup. If he can't, he'll be the kind of guys fans love but GM's think you can find a dime a dozen and shuttle around the league while they play guys like Hamonic or Petry instead.

I hesitate to say Carlo, because Carlo is only 3 years older and been in the league for 7 years so the upside is not the same but that's Regula's style.

Thanks for the hope... I'm a huge Carlo fan. Included him in all of my Draisaitl trades over the years lol.

From a Hawks fan…

At one time the Hawks had an aging VERY successful defence that needed tweeting because of both cap reasons and play decline…
with basically DKeith, BSeabrook, NHjarmsson and JOduya they won the last two rounds of the 2015 Stanley Cup playoffs(MRozsival broke his foot in deciding game of round two)…

What followed was a Stan Bowman loss of really good defenceman rating

Trading away of NLeddy, MKempny, JRutta and GForsling

Drafting HJokiharju, ABoqvist, IMitchell and NBeaudin

ARegula was an offensive(plays forward as well) defenceman that during this time of bad evaluation…Bowman acquired…his record of handling defencemen isn’t very good

Bowman did decide to keep Hjalmarsson over ANiemi, ALadd, MReasoner among others to build his core, but he eventually traded him(declining) to ARI for Connor Murphy, basically Murphy has filled the same role and decline a little slower

Bowman also traded(hand cuffed by his shirt team list) Keith to your EDM for CJones…another poorly evaluated dman

So take the Regula claim by him for what it is…A Bowman decision
