Oooph… wish we wouldn’t honestly, but you gotta spend where you see opportunity. Our (team) D was among the best in H2 this year… and surprisingly (or not so much if you are a goalie) Skinner managed to hold the fort despite his own faults.

Thing is… there are so few “difference-maker goalies” and to have one means you lose a Draisaitl-level contract. So who makes more difference? Its debatable.

I’m a defense minded guy (I’m a goalie), but even I can see that you pay for offense in this league… which means you can stack a team with two-way or defense first guys like Rico, Janmark, Brown, and mentally-tough (but physically limited) goalies like Skinner and let your true talent do the rest…

I’m down with the plan.

If the only way to win game 7 of the SCF is for the goalie to get a shutout, maybe a goalie isn't where you focus your limited resources for improvement. Jackson made the right moves with resources he had.
