Puljujarvi for Dach

Don't think EDM will be able to afford Puljujarvi in the offseason with Nurses extension kicking in + the need for a legit goalie. Dach seems to be having a pedestrian season for CHI and maybe a change of scenery with him coming back to his hometown would kick start him

I think EDM will do a hell of a lot more to fit Puljujarvi in if the alternative is trading him for a "change of scenary" player

For someone who hasn’t caught many CHI games this year is Dach really struggling that bad? He was an absolute force against the Oilers in the play-in series two years ago. I know he broke his wrist but that shouldn’t be enough to wreck what looked to be an emerging 1C power forward career. Jeez.

The whole team is struggling.
Dach at age 21 has played in 3 partial seasons so far disrupted by Covid and a wrist injury.
Way too early to think about trading him.

Seems a bit pointless from an Oilers POV. We have a glut of great centers, especially with the emergence of McLeod (not that he is a better than Dach).

We have some great forward prospects so if we were forced to trade JP, we'd likely go for a solid goalie, or a Dman.

Yeah sure, so if the Hawks were driving this trade proposal I could see it happening. But, the Oilers would not. We'd trade JP for a more pressing need, and then use one of our many forward prospects to fill JP's spot

And I dont see the Hawks driving this proposal as they likely see Dach as replacing Toews in time

Oh I agree, this trade wouldn't happen unless Chicago is looking to dump Dach. Even if they hire Chiarelli, I don't think they would be that dumb. Mind you, I said "not even Chairelli is that dumb" when they were announcing the Hall-Larsson trade, so...yeah.

I'm indifferent.
People can talk about how Edmonton is fine at center, but centers can be moved to the wing. And when a center gets hurt one of those wingers can move back to center.

wow so many proposals this season involving guys drafted in 1st round, less than 3 years prior
so i wondered, does that really ever happen much?

i did look for some examples,
it seems to happen more often very recently

in '16, Seth Jones was traded mid D+3 w 205 NHL GP

but these were all very recent
NSuzuki after D+1 but a year prior to NHL debut
Krebs, early in D+2 w 13 NHL GP
NFoote mid-D+1 no NHL GP

others you know of, within D+3?
