FROM EDMONTON: 1st 2026, 2nd 2025, 2nd 2027, Olivier Rodrigue (G), Viktor Arvidsson (RW/LW), PLUS Josh Brown (D) OR John Klingberg (D), PLUS two to three prospects Chicago wants, which could include William Nicholl (C), Beau Akey (D), Paul Fischer (D), Shane LaChance (LW)... Pretty much everyone but Matthew Savoie and Sam O'Reilly is fair game.

TO CHICAGO

FOR: Connor Murphy (D), Arvid Soderblom (G) PLUS Lukas Reichel OR Ryan Donato?

Possible? Stupid? Impossible?

I know the argument that a younger goalie might be ruined by Dustin Schwartz...well if we get him at the deadline there might not be enough time for Schwartz to do his damage, at least this year.

EDIT: Added Klingberg as an OR option to proposal

Also , take Reichel and add a pick and you got a deal

Hawks won't move Murphy until next year's deadline. Him and Jones were the only regular RHDs the team has had this season and now it's just Murph.

Don't think they'd want to get Brown (an ahler) and put him in that type of role next year.

Would you take Klingberg and/or Stecher? Better to aim for another lottery prize than get a lesser pick?

Maybe explain why Chicago wants or needs those 5 players other than to make the cap work for Edmonton?

Arvidsson and Klingberg might help Bedard find his scoring touch.

Nicholl is a promising prospect who is 4th in scoring on a loaded London Knights, Beau Akey was good enough to make Team Canada at the World Juniors, Fischer good enough for Team USA, and Shane LaChance is 6'5" 218, with an offensive touch, who is currently playing with the Hutson bros at Boston U.

Oilers say no

Before you call me a homer.

Why do the Hawks take the players the oiler fans do not want?

Oilers are giving up a lot of assets in hope the players they are getting can step it up

Soderberg is on a ELC and wont get big bucks on this next contract and teams want to keep guys like that

Arvid Soderblom has been a back up for the 2 years and the oilers need a number 1 who is a legit number and not someone we hope becomes a number 1. We need a number 1 no not a guy we hope will grow into one

They definitely don't need and I think want another goalie after yesterday's trade. I also read Nicholl wasn't that good and those 2 migh not help Bedard, so I think Chicago would say no.

for those following the bouncing ball

oilers give up

1st, two 2nd, 2 top prospect for a back up goalie and a D man who is comparable to Marcuss Petterson who the pens gave up for a first and cap dumps.

So lets make it a 1st for Murphy

the rest is for Soderblom?

Before I call you a homer I will say this. You are the definition of a diehard Oilers fan, you are a diplomat and you know hockey

However yes you are one of the bigger homers on this site, and that does not in ANYWAY take away any of the other things I said

There are very few legit, proven number ones available, but I too would prefer Gibson or Binner here. That said, Soderblom has been putting up number one goalie numbers on an atrocious team. Skinner was putting on AHL-level performances on a team that was excellent for a large chunk of the season.

I wouldn’t do this. Murphy sucks this year. He’s taken a step back and is a big reason Chicago sucks balls. Reichel also is red flags to me that he hasn’t been able to put it together at this level. The goalie is young and could be a player but the oilers don’t need a could be.

Reichel really shows flashes,, I think he is going to turn out good and I dont want the Hawks to trade him.

I wish Hawks would get rid of vets on D and start playing all the young guys, they are loaded w solid young dmen.
