We don’t need an enforcer. We need an energy player that can score more than 0 goals when not stapled to a superstar lol

Kane not physical? Yes when he was ailed with all of those injuries.

A guy doesn’t have to Kronwall someone to be physical IMO.

Maybe a change of scenery will bring life to him, but Frederic hasn't been any energy player this season. For a guy whose was 2nd on our team in hits, you wonder where the hits came from because he didn't seem to play physical.

I will never understand the Frederic infatuation... Hes in the same realm as Lars Eller or Garnet Hathaway. Not a needle mover and in his best season was very average in the playoffs.... Maybe he fits in next to McDavid as a banger tho?

Ever since i heard his mom won’t allow him to grow facial hair made me feel like he’s still attached to the ambilco cord lol

Let him grow a beard for fun lol

I like the Frederic add a lot for Edmonton. This is a playoff type move. Where they've lost me is everything else, you should be adding him to a bottom 6 that includes Holloway and McLeod, instead of... whatever it was they were tryna do last summer

Frederic was a strong 3rd liner for Boston the last couple of years, even played on the 2nd line at times last year. 40 points for a player like him ain’t bad.

Im guessing Edmonton wants him to be their 4C since they dont really have one.

I like the player and the addition for playoffs, however he hasn’t had a good year, is injured and weak on faceoffs.

This is definitely a bit of a hope move, but if he’s healthy and shows up for the post season then he should make the team better.

Eller is a different type and much more skilled. Hathaway is a closer comparison, but even he is more skilled and a little quicker.

Been a fan for basically 50 years, and rarely have I liked a Bruin regular less than Frederic. Good luck to him, but glad he is gone. He is neither very skilled nor particularly smart or honorable. Edit: Knoblauch may be able to get something from him if he plays him on his off wing. He has an outstanding snapshot and pretty good straight ahead speed. He also floats quite often, lacks agility and has average at best puck handling skill. Those that think he is gritty are in for a rude awakening.

I think what's so funny here is Fredric is part of the Milan Lucic trade tree since they traded Martin Jones, Collin Miller and the 1st for Jakub Zboril. Next, they trade Sean Kuraly and the 1st that picked Fredric for Martin Jones. Lucic left the Kings for Edmonton.

The Oilers totally won big on this deal.
He's actually part of the NEELY trade tree.

Barry Pederson traded to Vancouver for Cam Neely, 1st round pick (Glen Wesley)
Wesley traded to hartford for 3 1sts (sergei samsonov)
Samsonov traded to edmonton for Reasoner and a 2nd (Milan Lucic)
Lucic traded to LA for Jones, Miller and a 1st
Jones to SJ for Kuraly and a 1st (Frederic)
Frederic traded to Edmonton

Now it lives in, which is the most important thing. The Neely trade happened in June of 1986.

Interesting to see Boston selling when they are still very much in the playoff mix.

On the surface it seems like that, but they really aren't. Bruins have played 2-3 more games than the teams in front of them. That really why it looks like they in the playoff mix. The reality....

4th worst P% in the East
3rd worst Goal Differential in the East
3-5-2 in their last 10GP
Marchand, McAvoy & H. Lindholm all out with injuries.

They're in a good spot to re-tool this team. Sell off what assets you have, give some of your kids a look to see what you have. Keep losing, get a top 10 pick for the first time in 14 years and have ~$24 million in cap space for the off-season.

Freddy could be pretty good in Edmonton. Should be pretty good in Edmonton. We'll see.

That was the problem in Boston. Could have/should have. Frustrating player because the sum of the parts to date is much less than the parts. Parts themselves have always been intriguing.

Nice kid. Wish him well. Since he's out West, I hope he finds a renewal. Wasn't going to happen in Boston -- but I'm not sure why.

Is LaChance a legit prospect? Confused why the Devils are involved here without even getting a pick
Huge guy that's good around the net, but has really heavy boots.

I think he'll be like an Alex Chiasson if he does make it. Only skilled enough to play 3rd/4th line, but without any bottom six traits and could play net front on your PP if your top six is bad enough to have a spot open on the PP.

LaChance will be good for NJ. I have had season tickets to BU in the past five years so I’ve had a good look at him. He might even be able to step in in a bottom six role in April. Skating will be the one thing he needs to work on. Has a good nose for the net.
