Isles can't hang with Boston if the Bruins move their feet. Stopped skating in the 2nd and were just gliding around instead. Skate and we win. Simple as that.

We can say that but the team needs to do it. I have seen crazier things happen. This sport gives you crazy results. Hopefully this is a wake up call.

Sucks to lose like that but you take it on the chin and move on. We knew this series would be a tough one. The defense HAS to be better. Too much standing around not engaging players. Not taking the hit or knocking them off the puck. Lazy passes. Carlo and Lauzon in particular. Clean that shit up.

We'll be okay. Gotta continue to crash the net, put bodies in front, and keep the legs moving.

One of the things I was worried about regarding the Islanders is that they always give 100% and will always try to punish you if you make a mistake.

They proved that tonight. The Bruins didn't match that effort at times, and it bit them.

The turning point in the second period:

Pastrnak hooked in neutral zone, leading to turnover and extended NYI pressure

Pastrnak goalie interference

NYI goal

Changed the game.

Ignoring the elbow to Kuraly's face was a disgrace. It does offset eventually with Debrusk's cross check to the NYI defenseman in the 3rd, but I'd rather have both called and an early (possible) 2-0 lead.

The Carlo roughing penalty was embarrassing. The ref visibly warned Carlo to stop, Carlo stopped. Then Lazar and the NYI player hit the ice and the ref lost his composure, putting just Carlo in the box.

NYI goal.

Skate, outwork or match NYI's effort, and get a few of the NYI bounces and Boston wins in 5-6 comfortably.

A loss is one thing I can accept. But the way the bruins played in the second period was really the game.

Catch up hockey most of the time is losing hockey.

this is horseshit, bruce. almost every goal was off something.

How about mentioning how horrible the refreeing was instead of calling out the guy who kept is in the game when we imploded after going down 2?? Other coaches do it all the time because IT WORKS!! how many times have we seen brind'amour or berube complain about refs and then the next game the standard is completely different.
Absolutely embarrassing and shameful of Bruce to call out Tuukka. Tuukka made great save after great save to make up for the pure shit defense of several Bs. Unbelievable for Bruce to make that comment. f*** you Bruce!

The final goal is bad luck but just play it back up the boards. The islanders have had a lot of puck luck already in this series. Won't be worried unless they find another gear on home ice. DeBrusk shouldn't be playing next game though, 3rd line hasn't been great but it was a lot better tonight when he wasn't on it and the 2nd line took a dip.

Second period did them in.

I am happy they fought back.

Shitty luck for Lauzon and no one feels worse than him now. There is no need to shred him to pieces.

It was ill advised and is a lesson to every player. Hell the same thing happened to Bergy not too long ago.

If he plays I am calling a Lauzon goal Thursday.

At least they now know whet the Islanders can do and will make the adjustments.

Did we watch the same game? He was fine. Hit hit. He passed. He almost scored. Had a great pass. He was fine.
