Series Talk: ECSFs Discussion - All The Smoke Edition - Panthers Trailing 0-2

If there was an award for rating Bennett Elbows, that was like 2 Bennett elbows from 1 to 5.

" We all have a plan, until we get punched in the face"

That was the story of the game last night, get scored on immediately and from there on, we were chasing the puck all night.

The Leafs took from us what we gave to them, in their minds, the beat us with skills and determination, that wasn't the case. it was just plainly a bad game all around,

I noticed from the beginning that we were not hitting the leafs, physicality was toned down, and there was a sense they were playing to not lose, rather than play to win.

In any given night, this would have been a win, but we were on a mood for unforced errors, I did not find Bobrosky to be game ready, at least 2 of those goals were easy saves. he was just not good last night.

While the Leafs Nation is already preparing for the parade, I would caution them to hold for a bit, this was a very uncharacteristic Panther game, that probably will not repeat soon, Maurice will do the proper adjustments.

If these guys like, Verhaeghe, Rodriguez, Bobquist, don't get going, we are in trouble, Rodriguez needs to go back to the 4th line, and Bobquist needs to be benched, Samo should be dressed for the next game.

The goal is to win only one in Toronto, I can see us winning the next one, we still have that option available. that will cool down the Leafs fans jets pretty quickly.

I take comfort that even as bad as we were, we almost pulled off, that should worry the Leafs.

The Panthers allowed the Leafs take control of the game especially at the start of the game. Once they collectively, not just a portion of the team, decide to not take it easy on the Leafs then they'll win. I don't doubt that they'll eventually win this series. The Leafs are a better team than two years ago but there's still a significant skill difference (including physicality) between the two teams.

The Leefs media would hardly notice Bennett's hit on Stolarz if he did not manhandle the Laughs in 2023. Now he has a certain reputation so every hit of his has to be looked at with a magnifying glass and preferably considered as a dirty hit if the wailing and lamentation has even a slight chance of affecting the league's decision to suspend him.

Hey Panther fans...I am cheering you guys on.....Question about Matthew Tkachuk.....how did he look in game one....is he pretty much healed up or is he playing hurt? Thanks....

Actually I thought Chucky was moving better and PoMo played him 19 minutes dont think he got over 15 in a single game versus TB. Maybe he is feeling a bit better.

I expect a rejiggering of the 4th line, I would bring in Samo and Nosek for Boqvist and Greer. Drop ERod back down IMO

IMO he got more ice time due to the score. I'm curious if we have a 2+ goal lead will his ice time drop back down to the 10-15 range or is he going to be at his old minutes?

Bennett Derangement Syndrome

There is a concerted effort underway to hinder his career, enhance his "goonish, skill-less" reputation, influence the officials and impugn the Panthers as a franchise. Now the Bissonnette unhinged social media video makes sense, rile up the masses. Sound familiar?

All this manufactured trash constantly spewed by the rabid, grotesque media with the hope of accomplishing their ultimate goal, a Leaf victory. If they are successful in their mission, during the off-season they will make an unprecedented attempt to acquire the fruit they themselves have poisoned. (Recall the shower of accolades for him after the 4 nations tournament)

What caused Stolie to fill a bucket? The Reino shot, the Benny hit or bad clams? Is he beholden to the powers that pay him currently or will the bond between championship teammates ultimately reveal a less, sinister trigger?

Stolie knows the truth.

The Leafs whining and wailing will turn into a whimpering if we beat them tonight.
The Panthers need to Tallapoosa slapstick the $hit out them tonight.

He's playing hurt. Report came out that he'll need off-season surgery. Shame because between about December-February, he was looking like 22-23 Tkachuk.

he's not going directly at anyone right now. there's a lot of flailing, i think to make it look like he's out there doing something but it seems like the physical aspect of his play is greatly reduced. he's still able to contribute quite a bit obviously but he's not himself.

Erod should definitely go to the 4th line, he has been a ghost so far, I think Samo is more dynamic and really help the other lines.

I would say, with Ekblad back, I feel pretty good about our defense now, all the pairs are properly matched.
And someone needs to tap Bobo on the shoulder and tell him the game is on.
