You hate to see it.

It felt like the Leafs were cooked pretty early. After the second goal it felt like an incoming blow out.

I was having a lot of fun chirping and getting chirped by people around me but that stopped quickly once it was clear what was happening on ice lol. And I'll give the Leafs fans who stuck through the exodus credit, they understood the Leafs were a joke and were at least trying to laugh it off. There were Marner's leaving, we want Bennett, 5 more goals chants off the top of my head.

Were you at the game?

Just listened to Berube’s press conference, and idk if we’re just spoiled with Maurice, but Berube sounds like he has no clue what he’s doing or talking about.

Most coaches are boring meatheads. There's nothing wrong with that, it's the nature of the sport, but occasionally you get a guy with an IQ on the right side of the bell curve and some intellectual curiosity in a coaching position and you realize that postgame pressers can actually be interesting.

Mike Leach (CFB coach) was the best example of this, but Maurice is up there.

The problem for the Leafs is that, unlike other teams in the same position who wouldn’t have anything to lose by going out in game six and throwing everything at it, the Leafs choose to worry about tomorrow’s contracts and reputations and fear of never winning the cup again.

I think Maurice will have them ready to go in game 6 but I have to agree that the game was closer than 6-1 implies. Therefore if the Leafs were going to lose anyway that was better for them than an OT loss. The Leafs’ main hope is that the Panthers will somehow let up, which the 6-1 win “might” provide.

However, I think the Panthers are by now seasoned and pro enough to not just say the right words about not taking Toronto lightly, but also actually mean it. Taking the 4th win is almost always the hardest.

Yes but the Panthers' performance has not peaked yet in the playoffs. imo the Leafs are a tier, maybe two below the Panthers. Outside of Knies, they have a handful of star players that are not equipped to play in the playoffs and all the rest is mostly bargain bin gunk. No one is saying that they'd wish that e.g. Domi, Jarnkrok or Kampf was playing for their team in a depth role.
