Almost decided to head down to Florida next week but I am glad now I didn't don't want to be in the stands to see the sweep completed!

Truth! Finally a red blooded Florida Panther fan with the guts to embrace it.

Calling a 5-1 Florida win in game 3. Wouldn't be surprised to see Brodie or Liljegren concussed by the end of the game.

In fairness it'd probably still be cheaper to fly down to Florida, get two tickets to the game, and fly back, then it would be to catch Game 5 here (if necessary).

Leafs need to have a statement game in game 3 just like Dallas did last night. We will see what this Leafs team is made of in game 3. They better bring it.

The Panthers were underdogs down 3-1 to Boston. Same with the first two games in Toronto.

For once, they're not behind the eight-ball anymore. All the fans and media are talking about how great they are.

We'll see whether they relax or go for broke in game 3.

Leafs only have until July to trade Matthews unrestricted. After that, he has a full NMC.

It is painfully not working. Success eludes them. Failure is their bedfellow.

The answer...blow it up. Trade the veterans for future picks and prospects. Draft high and do a full rebuild. Create a future contender.
First you need to fire the GM, otherwise he will Dooble up the next rebuild for sure.

Leafs F’d around and found out.

The panthers are the anti-leafs. They forcheck hard and force mistakes that they punish you for, play physical hockey, get elevated play from their best player when the chips are down, and get clutch goaltending in high pressure situations.

Reverse all those statements and you have the leaves.

Hits are 89 to 84, and the Leafs have 56 takeaways/panthers giveaways compared to the Panthers 48 takeaways/leafs giveaways. The difference has been Bobrovsky. The Leafs have outplayed the Panthers 4 of 6 periods. Difference has just been Bobrovsky shut the door while Samsonov has let in a goal each game he should've had.

That isn't taking anything away from Florida. They are a good team and Tkachuk is a player every team would want.

But we don't need to make up falsehoods to explain the series any more than what it is.

Toronto went into Tampa Bay and won both, and they can do the same thing in Sunrise. They won both games in Florida this season.

Got my happiness hedges all set up, luckily I had some in place before the series started as the odds are much worse now. The only Panthers win that won't be really profitable is if it goes 7 games. Any other outcome is golden, though.

Good for you for having such a positive attitude. Anything after finally slaying the first round dragon is pure gravy. Just extend Dubas and you’re good to go next year. 👍

Dubes will be fired within the week once the series is over. 4 or 5 games gives me the best outcome financially, so hopefully we don't drag this out to 7 somehow.

It’s the forecheck not the hits. And the leafs are sloppy. Goalies are part of the team, they don’t get to be an extraneous variable. Leafs getting beat in a few dimensions despite controlling the play for large stretches.

They are shook

damn the nhl not holding back

They were fortunate to beat Tampa as they were outplayed about two thirds of the time. The breaks tend to even out over the long term and while they got the breaks earlier they aren’t getting them now. Florida’s physicality and pressure which isn’t just about recorded hits has also been a factor so far. Too many egregious Leaf turnovers that are in terrible spots.
As for goaltending, that’s an important part of any teams success as the goalie is a key part of the team.

Leafs D and goaltending ain't good enough. The 2nd Panthers goal last night was brutal. Your goalie can't be letting in simple wristers with no screen.

For sure. Florida is just toying with the Leafs. bobrovsky looking like the king of the world right now, makes things even better for them.

I am willing to bet this series is going to be a sweep With at least one of the two games being a shutout.

Agreed. Bob might be looking at a Smythe trophy here soon.
