Honestly there were a huge amount of chances for each side. Both goalies made tremendous saves at times. Both ends had wild rebounds and crossbars etc. It’s a game of inches. Toronto is still a very very dangerous hockey team. We need this rest and hopefully the boys will be back on Sunday to keep fighting like the warriors they are. Very proud of what they’ve achieved already.
Samsonov has not made any saves. He is terrible.

I know Leafs haters don't understand this, but the Leafs have Boston's first round pick this year.

Even if they lose, they now have a higher pick because Florida won. Hence, wanting Florida to win that series.

If Boston won that series and the Leafs lose, now they have a lower pick.

Fun fact: Fans want certain teams to lose when they own that team's first round pick.

I'm sure Toronto fans in Maple Leaf Square just after their first series win are chanting that thinking about draft picks.

they chanted "We Want Boston" too. Idk why people are holding this against them to begin with anyway.

The strip clubs must suck in toronto.
I can absolutely confirm that rippers in Toronto are garbage...so I hear.

History means nothing when talking about the previous round, but it means everything when your argument is hanging in the balance. Good one.
To be honest, history doesn't mean squat at any time when talking about sports. Regular season and first round are history, any team can beat another on any given night. Game 3 is critical for Toronto to win, obviously. But even if Florida just wins 1 at home they've got a stranglehold on the series. It'll be interesting to see how both teams come out of the gate for game 3 in Sunrise

Some fans were supporting Florida while others were chanting Boston- the cherry pick is the HF special.

Same reason everyone holds the we want the cup chants against Boston in game 1: Schadenfreude.

The shots were 16-9 after the first period. If Toronto played better 2/3 periods, you can't continue chopping up the games into different blocks to say Florida played better and actually it was just because they were turtling that Toronto's advanced stats looked good.

A win is a win, Toronto fans didn't try to pretend they were out playing TB all game when they stole two games from them last series.
If the Leafs actually tied the game 2 minutes into the 3rd period, like Boston did in games 5, 6, and 7 then the game changes. The Panthers stop turtling and the play reverts back to what it looked like in the first two periods.

The Leafs have certainly had more chances in this series. There are 2 reasons for that:

1. They’ve played up a skater for like 16 minutes compared to the Panthers 4

2. They’ve trailed the entirety of both 3rd periods and the Panthers sit back on 3rd period leads

Now I don’t know if the rest of the games in this series will have such a lopsided PP advantage in favor of Toronto (well maybe I do). I don’t know if the Panthers will always be sitting on a lead for a third of the game.

What I do know is that most of the game will be played at 5v5 and that the game will start 0-0. In that situation, the Panthers have been just as good, if not better, than the Leafs throughout the first two games
