Era defining is wrong.

A win won't change opinions on them, not after9 years.

However

A loss is a confirmation in an offseason in which 2 "important" ( YMMV) players are UFA's.

In that sense its defining who is coming back and who is playing their last game as a leaf.

I want to see the leafs win.

I think it is era defining. If they win this game but lose next round in anything but a sweep, this core would have accomplished as much as any Leafs core since 1967. It is 100% narrative changing.

Most Leaf fans just want to see their team who has clearly been a top team for many years finally make a big cup run. Once the dust settles assuming they advance I think most will be proud of the team no matter how it ends

I think we can all acknowledge that the current Leafs team is one of the biggest playoff failures of all time.

If the Leafs lose tonight, they remain so.

If the Leafs win tonight, the Panthers become the defending Stanley Cup champions who lost to one of the biggest playoff failures of all time, a team that their fans fully expected to dispose of four or five games.

Go Leafs Go!!!

I maintain it would be an epic choke. Shutout the Leafs in game 4, smack them around in game 5. City of Toronto on fire, everyone ready to chase the core out of town. And they allow that Toronto team known for quitting when it gets hard to pick themselves up, shut you out at home, and then win a game 7?

Not getting too far ahead of myself but I consider it an epic choke job

Rooney and Hebert are the officials tonight.

Will be difficult to team who wins today. Super physical series and Canes match awaiting on tuesday without any extra rest. And both teams seems to have important players more or less injured.
There is the flip side to that though. The Canaes are not very physical and thus the next series will seem "easier", They smother defensively and push the pace but they aren't winning in the trenches.

I could see a Game One that might be tough to win as the players will naturally take their foot off the gas to heal a bit. That's it.

Either way big game. Screw the panthers

I know everything is overemphasized with the Leafs but even still, it’s hard to understate how big this game is. An era defining game.
One of those - Rise to the occasion or Crumble under the pressure.

Perfect scenario for this core if they rise up; dreadful Monday if they wilt.

Worth the watch, no matter who you cheer for.
