Ok all these scrums in front of NYR net got me thinking....
Is there any rule in hockey that forbids the players to form a wall on their knees in front of the goal? With a 2-3 players plus the goalie we could cover the entire net
Like similar to how they make a wall in soccer penalty kicks.
Could be used in the last couple minutes of a tight game where we have the lead

Maybe if you got your head out your ass, you would've seen we were hemmed in, guys going on 3 minutes of time out there and can't change. Our goalie makes a command decision and rather we trade a PK for fresh bodies, and it f***ing worked. Blatant, smart penalty.
Wonder if Igor did that on purpose. Team was gassed and Carolina's PP is doodie. Incredibly risky but that shift was looking like it was gonna end in a goal or penalty anyway.
Yes he did it on purpose. Fresh PK unit against a Canes Pp> any ranger squad that has been pinned in their zone for 3 minutes 5 v 5

Why can't they change? We just decided to play 2 mins of 4 on 5 instead of just doing it for the several seconds each time while they cycles through a change

We had the long change and had one clear that was sent right back into the zone!!

A command decision equals committing a penalty 2 feet from a ref?

Next, he'll hold a trial and find out who's been stealing the strawberries.

If a player covers the puck in the crease it's a penalty shot. I'm sure that would be called immediately if they were so blatant about it.

They would also immediately implement an Avery rule the next day to never allow that kind of garbage to happen again.

So change while they've go possession in their zone.
Rotate the high forwrad and they go off while the team plays PK, it shouldn't take too long for the fresh player to get back so you're doing a few short (10 second?) PKs instead of a 2 min one

@Kords What are you seeing that makes you think Kreider is injured? I'm not disagreeing, I'm just curious.

There have been a few loose pucks that he could of easily gained, instead he gives them up and skates back. He was doing it in the Pens series and now in back to back games i've noticed him doing it in this series.

Maybe he's just playing passive defense, but it reminds me very much of that last ECF vs the Bolts where our Dman kept playing that way and we found out half of them were playing with foot/ankle injuries.
