I personally put it on par with In N Out (ubiquitous in Arizona which is where I grew up) in terms of food quality, and In N Out is much less expensive. I had almost no reason whatsoever to choose Five Guys over it.

In-n-out burgers are decent but they have like the blandest fries I’ve had in my life.

Have no idea why in-n-out gets so much hype

Hi guys. I'm the idiot that booked a later flight out of Raleigh trying to make a potential pre-flight practice. Then practice got canceled. Then my flight and all flights got canceled. Lol.

I am bored and antsy. What do we think will happen tonight

That's a good comparison. Its a shame 5 Guys is so pricey, it's over $12/burger here now. Literally no reason to buy it because you can get a 1/2lb Elk burger from Fuddruckers for $15.

Best cheap burger is Rallys/Checkers. They only put them in really bad neighborhoods here so I don't get to enjoy them often.

Best tasting fast food burger of all time was King Leroy's, which only had 1 location, on a small Army base, and it was destroyed in a flood around 2014 and never reopened. RIP you tasty bastards.

SR, I suspect that Lempo's post pretty much went over your head. Understandable, as you haven't been around us long enough for your mind to sink into the gutter to the point that the gist of it would jump out at you, lol. That may be a good thing! :D
My initial bewilderment was genuine though, I really though that Surrounded by had had a lunch with five buddies of his. Only then I caught on, but still the franchise was wholly unknown to me so the proper intel was much appreciated.

I phrased that poorly. I want to rephrase it to convey what I actually mean, but I think I've had a little too much of the single malt to care to try. Something like all their beef comes from the same farm so if they opened up a location on the east coast they'd have to ship it across the country and they're not willing to deal with that for the sake of a larger footprint.
I got that general gist among those lines from your post. I just wanted to show off my business ken about franchising.

I agree. For the price they're good. As for the fries, I agree. They suck. Mildly amusing too, because they go out of their way to peel their potatoes and put them through a press on site to make them as fresh as possible, and they still suck.

As for the hype, well, that's just marketing. Their niche is to create the demand and hype by keeping the number of locations low, which as I mentioned earlier, they also manage by not franchising any locations. It's just their overall business model, and seems to be working out quite well for them. I like their burgers and would rate them roughly a 7 on a 1-10 scale, but I'm not one of those people who's out there saying that they're the best burgers ever.

No icings tonight

If we want icing, we should whisk together a cup of powdered sugar, three tablespoons of half and half, and half a teaspoon of vanilla extract.
