I'm pissed off about Bratt's performance lately but I don't think we should be looking to move him unless his contract demands are ridiculous, or the return is too good to pass up (which I don't see happening).

Just way too much linear thinking when it comes to Bratt. Obviously finding a 70 point player to replace him is not likely to happen. But if you can land a guy who is harder on the puck, more physical, plays better D, and can still maybe contribute 40-50 points, that can very much make us a better team, especially if our other young players continue improving.

He’s not big enough. I would like to see them add a big ill tempered sociopath with skill.
Yes. The game has changed but we need our Claude Lemieux and Scott Stevens. Good in the regular season but invaluable in the playoffs.

I hear Cal Petersen is available and signed long term.
That's a buyout for sure.

Speaking of Petersen and his extremely generous cap hit, I was on cap friendly for coaches earlier today and saw that LOSER Todd McLellan is the highest paid coach in the league, at least who has a known salary. There's some guys (like Ruff) that don't have their salary listed.

$5 million for LOSER Todd, who is signed through next year.

By “better” you mean production. I don’t necessarily think we need to fully replace his production if that player brings a different element to the team that helps us with some of our existing weaknesses.
He fits our system perfectly and should not be going anywhere. No one that brings a different element will contribute as much. No one I can think of, literally. Kyle Connor? One of the worst defensive players in the league? Glass Bertuzzi?

I think his demands are going to be too ridiculous. Fiala is getting paid $8M from LA and Bratt just isn't on his tier. Timo arguably is due his presence, but Bratt provides nothing if not scoring.
