It feels absolutely crazy to say this after we just squeezed into a playoff spot at the last second, but somehow this season turned out more successful than last year's. We beat the greatest regular season team ever and we've won one more game than we did against Tampa in round two. We look way more battle tested and playoff ready this time around than at any point in the playoffs last year.

Oh, and we have a 1-0 series lead for the first time since I was a toddler.

The thing is, Toronto came very close to scoring many times tonight. You could argue Bobrovsky stole a game for us tonight. He stood on his head and made big save after big save. He won't be able to do that every game. I'm super happy with he win, but there's work to do if we want to get three more.

Thankfully, we get to go back to Florida with a split at worst.

Nah. I have zero expectations. I'm just really happy to see the development of the core of this team. The performance of a bunch of these guys in the playoffs is going to make it impossible for Zito to f*** up the offseason, IMO.

I thought we were going to have a down year, and we just about did, but somehow we're more successful this season than we were last.

100% next year is the year, this is all gravy. Next year I'll be shitting myself round 1 like vs the Caps, but this year, like I said, feels like a fever dream.

Solid performance by the team. Bob bailed us out. If he is going to play his worth we have to be feeling really good about ourselves. It'll give us an edge.
Montour's offense is truly bonkers, it's making up for some of his defensive mistakes.
Tkachuk, I mean, what else can be said, at this rate clear MVP.
Duclair, I have nothing against the guy, but my lord we might as well have an ECHL player for him and there would be no difference. He is simply useless. Provides nothing.
We just have to continue with our game. The guys have really bought into whatever Maurice sold them and it's paying dividends.

Hope we can continue this and win the series. Lots of respect for that Leafs team though, they're dangerous and we have flaws. But darn it we have heart.
