I'm hoping the Sens come out banging so that they PO the Pens.

If there's one flaw with the Pens its that lah dee dah attitude. Full respect to the Isles but look at the Pens when they actually tried like in games 1, 5 and the 3rd period of game 6.

I think it's good that we're starting Vokoun over Fleury, kinda sends that message that getting his job back won't be easy and when he does play, he needs to play better to keep his job.

If it's true that the room wants Fleury to start, they need to find a new room. Just goes back to my theory: these guys are too close to each other, totally unwilling to get in someone's face and hold each other accountable. We need to sign Mark Messier to elbow everyone (but Sid) in the face.

Orpik will handle any destroying of Sid's face, thank you.

I don't understand why people act like Fleury hasn't been trying hard enough or something.

He's just bad. Get over it.

I used to try fooling myself too. My little delusion was that Fleury was the most naturally talented goalie in the league, and that some day he'd put it together.

Well, he's 28 now guys. Not 20. He is what he is. Terrible.

I agree. If the players in the room actually want Fleury to start over Vokoun, there needs to be changes in the room. Something's wrong there. Absentmindedly wishing Fleury could still be the goalie and didn't constantly make their playoffs harder is another matter and understandable. I'm hoping it's just some reporter taking liberties and not an actual feeling in their locker room.

There's a difference between wanting him to start and wanting him to start, kwim?

Like, there's a difference between being a good teammate and saying "I hope MAF gets another chance, we believe him him" because he's your friend and you want to see him succeed and saying "MAF needs to start and we're going to sit here and hold our breath until he does even if it means shooting ourselves in the foot and ****ing up our shot at the Cup." If it were the latter, there are vets in the room that would set them straight I'm sure. Not to mention Sid. Sid seems like a nice guy and a good team player but he wants to win, period.

confused as to why engelland is starting. ive said it before, the only time it wouldve been useful to have him on the ice against the islanders was when okposo was looking to go.

yes, I get what you mean. On top of that, there's not really any tangible proof that that's the belief. I was merely saying IF that's how they feel, take a long walk.

I'm having trouble believing the rumor, though. How does that come up? They are about to start Round 2. Fleury or Vokoun they have to win. I can't imagine guys are going around openly undermining Vokoun.

think its far more likely that the part about supporting fleury is what's being said and the second part about wanting him to be the starter is inferred, manipulated, and sensationalized in the reporting.

Nah, I don't think so either. They seem to have a lot of respect for Vokoun.

How about the guys in the room feeling bad they didn't exactly help him out either. It's going to battle for one another and not so much disrespecting Vokoun for what he has done. He was on the wrong side of some bad outings, too.

I think Fleury looked great giving high fives to everyone in game 5. He looked a little sour in game 6 though. That might explain why the score was tighter. Maybe the ice girls have an extra uniform. Help him feel a little more at home.
