Big chance to take a 2-0 lead. Gotta come out strong and not take stupid penalties.

Sucks to lose Stolarz, but at least we have Woll, and it looks like Bobrovsky is in sieve mode this year.

Should be a fun game.

definitely the safe, more logical move to have Murray as backup.

Let's hope playoff Woll shows up tonight. He was excellent in the past two series.
Yeah with the experience difference Murray is a no brainer. Putting Woll in cold against a team that's pushing back from 3 down is just never a good place for a goalie. We'll see a far better version of Woll tonight.

Murray will be good just as a veteran steady hand. I think there’s any reason to have held him so long it would be for him to be in the room and also as a safety net in these critical moments.

Let's go Woll. But more importantly, which version of Matthews are we going to get tonight?

Constantly seeing other team's stars out performing him getting to be tiring. At some point, he just needs to show up. Rielly has the same amount of goals as Auston does from Tampa Series. That just can't be

Let's go big fella, need a big game from you tonight.

There are some other sleepers getting off easily. McMann, how did this guy score 20 goals?
Need more out of Tavares.

Should see a different Woll tonight with him being prepared for the start. Would be tremendously great for the team to win another game at home tonight before the series shifts to Florida.

Morgan Reilly has the same number of playoff goals in the last 16 days as Auston Matthews since the Tampa series in 2023.

That really has to change if the Leafs want to get out of this series.

Thought he was moving much better in game 1, and was actually shooting the puck rather than deferring which we saw too much of in the Ottawa series. Hopefully that's the start of him turning the page a little bit. Hoping for a big night.
Yeah, I think if everyone keeps playing the way they have been so far, and Matthews can find his scoring touch, we can win this series.

Having the lead, and having it early makes a massive difference. Easier said than done, but that should be the goal.

Make them chase the game. Get the crowd into it...

This would be a great time for Matthews, Marner and Tavares to pot a couple between them.

I think Woll’s going to step it up in a big way. Whenever he’s been called upon in the playoffs to start he’s come up big. Keep it up.
If he can get through the first 5 or 6 shots and not go down too early throughout the game, he'll be fine.

That PP needs to get their act together. I would move Marner from there and just put OEL
0-5 in a playoff game? come on

Craig Berube on Anthony Stolarz: “He’s fine. He’s recovering.”

No timeline provided. Declines to say what Stolarz is recovering from.

Joseph Woll starts, Matt Murray backs up

I am reading this different than others. I think the Leafs will come out heavier. I think they have more energy and urgency to get out after the injury and the comeback scare. The Leafs are going to want to put them in their place. We are the storm to be weathered tonight I think. GLG

Yes, for 34, 91 and 16 it could be ES or PP goals, doesn't matter. We just need something meaningful from them.

I think it is clear though that the PP will not be the factor it was early in the Sens series. It has gone cold again... but I do like the get the puck to the net, create chaos, recover and repeat. That is the way to success imo.

I think the 5-foward PP is here to stay except in late game situations. The Rielly on the PP replacing Knies was a planned situational configuration. Agree though, it would be OEL for me, no need to stress Rielly out with that part of the game.

If they are serious about this, they double down on their start! Fully agree. Take it to the Panthers again, in the sense of setting the tone and pace.

Why do the Leafs always have to be the ones reacting... be the initiator, own the tempo.

I think we are seeing that change with Berube... up to the players to carry on with it.
