You may not understand this but it is completely possible to play physical hockey without the circus. No one buys your victim card waving.
3 separate dirty plays in game 1, just coming off a series where they had a player get suspended for a dirty hit, and another player get fined for a dirty hit.

OMG why does everyone keep saying were dirty? Would have more respect if they just owned it.

You are exactly the kind of person that is mystified at how Bennett's repeated shots to the back / side of the head keep producing the same results despite being "light" contact. Certain actions carry inherently higher risks than others. Side / back of head is much riskier than front. Knees is another.

I’m sure we could dig up some posts complaining about Hagel being too rough on barkov though

Don’t you like rough hockey?

Am I crazy for thinking that shot Stolarz took to the face mask is what caused the concussion?

I think Bennet did hit him in the head he’s a dirty player and the Panthers are a dirty team but I just think the puck to the face mask is what really hurt Stolarz maybe a bit of a delayed reaction.

Until you play too physically against their favorite team.
WTAF are you talking about? Don't look at the hit totals (that's how Florida plays, forecheck, forecheck, forecheck, wear down the D). Watch the game. Do you honestly think the Cats were "too physical" against the Leafs? Most of the biggest hits of the night were thrown BY Leafs. The Panthers don't intimidate the Leafs physically in any way, and the more this series goes on, the more you will realize this isn't 2018 anymore.

It's the dirty bush league shit that pisses people off. You guys whined ad nauseum about the Hagel hit (Barkov missed ten minutes), while defending the Tkachuk/Ekblad "retaliation."

Leaf fans saw what Bennett did to Knies two years ago. Bruins fans saw it with the cheap shot on Marchand last year. And in Game 1, you saw it again, this time with a goalie. The same guy. Every time. You sensing a trend here? It's really not that hard to understand.

Play the game hard. Most hockey fans love that. Don't be douche cheap shot artists. That doesn't make you "tough."

Literally in game 1 alone you had Mikkola elbowing Jarnkrok in the face when he was nowhere near the puck. You have Bennett forearming Stolarz in the side/back on the head, and you have Tkachuk taking runs at Marner AFTER the game has ended trying to knee on knee him.

Show me some examples of Leaf players doin this rat shit in game 1.
Patches got a couple shots in that went unnoticed. I know most fans only see the shit done to their team, but the Leafs aren’t totally innocent. It’s playoff hockey, it’s going to be rough, and players on both teams will do questionable things.

How about the Leaf fans that love the team more than their own mothers???
Weak response. There are many folks here who present themselves as fans of other teams, but spend most of their existence on this forum being in Leafs discussion threads bashing the team and fans. Meanwhile you won't find a Leafs fan here who has dedicated their entire account to hating on the Habs, Bruins, Sens etc for example. Being an obsessive hater is almost always a worse look than being a crazed fan.

Think both / the accumulation played A role

You’re missing my point a bit. I’m referring to why FL was hated before this series even started. The Leafs were more physical to start off game 1.
Panthers play aggressive hard hitting style, and most nights when they are clicking it’s a thing of beauty. The bad hits have occurred, and they should be punished when they do. but now the narrative has become always cheap, always dirty on every hit/check, every play no matter what. and it’s just hyped up bullshit being driven by click-hungry hockey media.

Were they outrageously dirty hits though or just more or less finishing his checks ?

I swear it’s almost like the panthers have an executive that’s connected to someone in the nhl front offices that lobby’s the league on their behalf, who has proven history of inserting himself in the middle of disciplinary situations!
weird i dont remember trouba getting much punishment for elbowing erod in the face in the ECF

or draisatl elbowing barkov out of a SCF game neither

I think DOPS just sucks for everyone but since were the league boogey man every dirty hit this team does gets highlighted insanely more

Saw a ton of dirty hits the caps laid out vs montreal and no punishment either.

I think this game is going to be a tough one for Panthers fans. I expect the Leafs will really lock down on defense and block almost everything remotely close to the net. The game will probably look somewhat one-sided based on shot attempts and possession, but the Leafs will rope a dope it to OT and then score the winner.

Well deserved, IMO

they had the chance to dispel the dirty team moniker in game 1. They could have said it was just a series that got too heated vs Tampa.

But they f***ed that up by being EVEN MORE DIRTY vs the leafs.

Bottom line is that Florida players are scared as f*** if this maple leafs team beating the pants off them and they’re already at attempt to injure to try to salvage the series.

The panthers are an embarrassment

Outrageous is in the eye of the beholder. If it was a Leaf receiving them they probably would be seen that way.
Leaf players have a history of being suspended in the playoffs for their recklessness. Be nice if other squads were as accountable for their actions . Maybe it’s coming. Idk. As stated previously I can see Domi doing something dumb . Like jumping Bennett and him just Turtleling and taking the extended pp .

Well, of course that's not true. I think every team would love to be the Panthers right now. They're built the right way for the playoffs, play a physical game, great D and goaltending and an incredible top 9.

Florida is very successful right now. That makes them disliked by default. But the cheap shots don't sit well with fans of other teams (kind of like cheering for the Leafs). I mean, we had Kadri. We know better than anyone. If you look at it objectively, and Bennett was a Leaf, you'd be saying the same thing.

Well exactly. It is what it is. Just like when Tucker was around. He himself literally said "Live by the sword, die by the sword".
