This isn't Elementary school. There are always teams and players in every sport that push the "dirty/ physical" envelope. That's Panthers M.O. Either the Leafs deal with it or they will lose.
So to deal with it must the Leafs also bump into Bob iin his crease and pretend they dont feel anything when their.gloves hit his head while he is vulnerable and on his knees? The league is supposed to protect the players, especially the goalie, this isnt MMA.

I dont care how soft or not the hit was, it was his head, his neck wrenched and it was by a guy who has purposely done this multiple times without consequences. The sport remains in the 1950s because of this attitude, "just deal with it". That's the G-damn leagues job. Back in the 50s, Maurice Richard had to go berzerk with his stick due to the constant dirty play against him. That would be another great spectacle for the league already viewed as a parody of a sport.

Patches got a couple shots in that went unnoticed. I know most fans only see the shit done to their team, but the Leafs aren’t totally innocent. It’s playoff hockey, it’s going to be rough, and players on both teams will do questionable things.
Kulikov drove his shoulder clear through Holmberg's head. Do you see much talk about it? Any theory as to why?

weird i dont remember trouba getting much punishment for elbowing erod in the face in the ECF

or draisatl elbowing barkov out of a SCF game neither

I think DOPS just sucks for everyone but since were the league boogey man every dirty hit this team does gets highlighted insanely more

Saw a ton of dirty hits the caps laid out vs montreal and no punishment either.

The problem is this is the standard but any time a Leaf is involved in anything questionable they are suspended. Unless they are on the receiving end then nothing. There is enough history at this point it is not even opinion it is fact.

This series is physical enough. At some point a questionable hit will be thrown by a Leaf. Let's take a guess what the fan response will be and the league response.

You’re missing my point a bit. I’m referring to why FL was hated before this series even started. The Leafs were more physical to start off game 1.
Panthers play aggressive hard hitting style, and most nights when they are clicking it’s a thing of beauty. The bad hits have occurred, and they should be punished when they do. but now the narrative has become always cheap, always dirty on every hit/check, every play no matter what. and it’s just hyped up bullshit being driven by click-hungry hockey media.
Actually that's invented narrative, by you. Fans have called out the plays that are dirty. Florida was hated before the series started because they've been doing the same thing for several years and generally the exact same players over and over again. They also put the cherry on top by acquiring possibly the player that most epitomizes said type of play for a solid decade.

Literally in game 1 alone you had Mikkola elbowing Jarnkrok in the face when he was nowhere near the puck. You have Bennett forearming Stolarz in the side/back on the head, and you have Tkachuk taking runs at Marner AFTER the game has ended trying to knee on knee him. This is also literally just coming off a series where Florida had several dirty plays against Tampa.

Show me some examples of Leaf players doin this rat shit in game 1.
Domi crosschecking Marchand. Absolutely vicious.

Am I crazy for thinking that shot Stolarz took to the face mask is what caused the concussion?

I think Bennet did hit him in the head he’s a dirty player and the Panthers are a dirty team but I just think the puck to the face mask is what really hurt Stolarz maybe a bit of a delayed reaction.
No, not at all. Has it been confirmed that there a concussion?

He didn’t look great in relief but I assume it’s him over Murray . Barring a miraculous Stolarz recovery

Woll is a fine goalie who's capable in the playoffs in my opinion, who played well (albeit in a limited sample size) in the past. The Leafs are more than capable of winning the series, even the cup, if (God forbid) Stolarz is out long-term and they have to play Woll the rest of the way.

As for him coming in during game 1, sure he looked shaky, but he hadn't played in a month or so. While he's a professional who "should be ready" for that kind of situation, in practice sometimes you just have rust like that, so he gets a free pass for me for game 1.

A Leafs player is definitely getting a suspension during this series. Domi or Paccioretty is my guess. Sneaky bet is OEL.

Leaf fans act like Bennett took a full speed run at Stolarz from centre ice. Yes he hit him but every game has worse contact than that. You are just unhappy with the outcome.
The bottom line is that the Panthers are going to keep pushing the envelope and the Leafs better push back.
