Bunting got 3 games for a hit to the head that looked like even less force than bennet hit Stolarz with.

The especially frustrating game that I’ll never let go (mostly because it forced the Kadri trade), is game 2 vs Boston. Looking at everything leading up to that and then giving Kadri the entire series for playing the game the refs wanted is something I’ll never let go.

Hockey is amazing, the NHL is really shit sometimes though

Maybe get out more? If you can’t see how Kadri deserved what he got, given what had already transpired in the game… well, I think I’m probably just wasting keystrokes anyway.

But you make a good point- at least ~3:17 you can clearly see Tavares deliver a much heavier blow to Rask than Bennett did to Stolarz. Mind you Stolarz was already concussed at the time.

We're at one Woll injury away to see Matt Murray in NHL playoffs hockey again!

Unrelated to the current hockey talk of PEDs/suspensions, but he has great numbers in the AHL this year (the best in the league)... I am at least intrigued if he has to step in, but slightly nervous as a Leafs fan.

Also, he is still only 30.

Considering the seriousness of the Stolarz injury, why is the nhl not stepping in but (instead) allowing the club to control whether he plays? The guy got knocked in the head twice in short succession and then vomited. He was hospitalized.
Was he allowed to continue playing after he vomited? I forget the timeline.

IIRC he played for 8 minutes between the hit and when he left.

Just making stuff up now, getting sad at this point

Unless the NHL will now be doing this for all teams and all injuries, it is a ridiculous suggestion.

No, he left.

Omg sens would be LOSING THEIR MINDS if they had as many calls ignored as there were in that game.

That was the worst officiated game I’ve ever seen, and it ended Kadri’s career in Toronto. Because players will eventually police the game themselves if the refs refuse to do their jobs.

Spotters are there for a reason and should have done a better job, but holding players out and overriding team doctors after the game is a slippery slope.

Also, pretty sure the spotters are just refs, could be wrong, but if they are, it seems dumb.
yes, you are correct
slippery slope
but if they don't pull a guy like the NFL, and the player has a real issue on the ice... wow
the NHLPA will be wild

Regardless of the opinion of the headshot I am stunned at the amount of long time fans talking about the shot off the helmet. Like we all see that basically every game right? Some goalies take shots off the helmet as part of their warmup routine.

the spotters are getting killed in the press, after he took the puck in the head

Having concussion spotters pulling players off the ice for every hit they take would be an absolute disaster for the sport.

If the league handed out supplemental discipline as they should the headshots would disappear.

Why wouldn’t a player like bennet deliver another one tonight? They didn’t get called for sticks or fists to the head and the league looked at both plays and said “yup, that’s fine”

As a neutral, I have nothing productive to add to this thread. That said...

...Tim Hortons come to NC you cowards! I want Timbits and coffee damnit.
Tim's is absolute trash-tier. You are not missing out.

Not even useful as a geographic reference point as there are so goddamn many of them around.
