Leafs have to super carful, because if they run Bob, Panthers will definitely run Woll. If Woll gets injured then it's Matt Murray time and we don't want that. Well, Panthers fans want that for sure.

I don't think it matters what we do, they are gunna take runs. Not playing scared finish checks drive the net hard do what you need to do.

We’re witnessing an evolution of language. The word “steroid” has become a catch term for any performance enhancing drug, many which aren’t technically steroids. But the meaning is understood as essentially cheating by way of chemicals. The only outliers which seem to still live by their own names are blood doping and HGH.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. I started watching hockey in the mid-1970s. There have always been fans complaining about how dirty a particular team is, even in the 70s and 80s when it was commonplace in the game. Then those same fans will defend their own team's players when others argue they are ditry players. It's just standard stuff. It's like whining about certain teams diving or faking injuries or complaining to refs...whatever, it's all the same. I think it's all irrelevant.
So the answer you were looking for is “no”?

Kadri a year prior got 3 games for boarding Wingels in the 2018 playoffs.
He got suspended against for a late cross check to the head of DeBrusk in 19 for what 5 games? Game 2 it occurred, right?

So, he had the time-frame for the repeater status. Not that I agree with the overall length handed out in 2019.

I don't have a great memory of every suspension league wide during the playoffs, but I'm curious if the lengths have stayed the same or decreased to not handicap teams as much depending on the penalty. Are they letting them play more since 19/20?

I doubt Ekblad will get away with another "headhunting" shot without getting thrown the book at since he just served two games for the hit on Hagel.

Parros didn't play for Boston. unless this is a Colin Campbell deep NHL suspension.
Since Parros took over as head of DOPS in September of 2017, there have been 6 on-ice related suspensions that resulted in missing more than 2 playoff games.

2018
Nazem Kadri - 3 games
Tom WIlson - 3 games
2019
Nazem Kadri - 5 games
2021
Nazem Kadri - 8 games
Mark Scheifele - 3 games
2023
Michael Bunting - 3 games

So that makes half of them handed to Leaf players, with Kadri picking up one additional due to his reputation as a Leaf.

These are the hits that the NHL considers the dirtiest in the past 8 years of Playoff hockey.

Bunting did indeed get a suspension for a hit on Cernak in 2023. Don't remember the amount of games he got but I think it was 3.

Obviously I saw it as a deserved suspension, but if I try to take off my homer glasses and consider it from the other point of view, I can definitely understand how it would feel frustrating to see Leafs players get suspended often but players on other teams get away with questionable things without facing supplemental discipline.

Bunting got 3 games for a hit to the head that looked like even less force than bennet hit Stolarz with.

The especially frustrating game that I’ll never let go (mostly because it forced the Kadri trade), is game 2 vs Boston. Looking at everything leading up to that and then giving Kadri the entire series for playing the game the refs wanted is something I’ll never let go.

Hockey is amazing, the NHL is really shit sometimes though

No one thinks of stimulants like Ritalin or Adderall as steroids yet they are considered PED’s. To refer to them as “steroids” isn’t evolution it’s just lazy, and in some cases libelous.

This. There’s many examples of Parros’ bias against the leafs in the regular season as well.

Of course it's horrendous. But there is a long list of ineptitude across the league and many arenas without a single banner. Rangers once in 84 years. So many teams to share one championship. Fla ended their 30 year drought last year. Good on them

Can we please not forget St Louis. They finally got one a couple years ago but it was like a 50+ year thing.

I don't understand non-Leafs fans bringing up 1967 like it's some painful dig on us...............

We (Leafs fans) are well aware of how much we have and will probably continue to suck, for eternity.

I thought we were going to blow the Ottawa series, that's what I've been condititioned to expect.

Our entire species is based on laziness. If you kill someone with a fork and they say you used a knife, the only ones who’ll care about the inaccuracies are you and the lawyers.
