People have to hang themselves up on our period-to-period "quality".

The score is really what matters in a period. There was none in this. Lundqvist was fantastic. That's what he's here to do.

I think we'll come out better in the second. A little sharper. The Rangers look like they're trying, but man, Julien is really manhandling Torts right now. I think the Bruins will wear down and the Rangers will pounce.

Just curious, but why do you think it will be the Bruins wearing down and not the Rangers. Teams that play on their heels generally wear down more so than the attacking team. We were on our heels that entire period and sans the 2nd period of last game, pretty much this entire series.

And what were the REALLY important numbers in my sentence. "0-0".

Hardly a time for fans that genuinely want to see the team win to throw in the towel. It's disgusting.

I suppose that "how" a team wins shouldn't be all that important, but if you honestly think that this team is playing well and showing you something that makes you believe they might actually win this series, and the next one, and the next one, then ok.

The constant failure to live up to potential grows old after awhile. And people that are being realistic are throwing in the towel because this all looks very familiar.

WEll that's what happens with a coach that isn't inept

I know that that is possible too, but the team has to smarten up, and ratchet up the intensity, or it will be very difficult to take advantage of anything.
If they don't force the Bruins to make mistakes, they will not be taking advantage of any.

The way we play is finally getting to me badly ...

They keep the puck on the boards until they lose it. Too much effort and energy wasted on the boards.

The system is too high in energy demand and produced not enough by far.

Everybody is simply getting wore out ...

Pretty abysmal period. Boston taking a page out New Jersey's playbook last year: outnumber the Rangers along the wall(The Rangers force their breakouts along the wall)and keep them hemmed in their own end for stretches at a time.

Our lack of a cohesive transition game is killing us(even more so than our horrific PP). Rangers are pedestrian with the puck.

On top of all of that, we are starting to have massive defensive breakdowns in our own end. Tell me what good is a collapsing D, when the opposing team forwards can still gain the slot?

Hank has been Hank so far. Only reason the Bruins haven't gotten on board.

Horrible showing from the Rangers...

Lundqvist didn't make enough breakaway saves. It's his fault its 0-0 in the first. Let's trash him! :sarcasm:

Looks like the Rangers are thinking about their tee times for Memorial Day Weekend. When is Lundqvist a UFA so he can go play for real team?

There is also evidence that this team has a lot of untapped potential, and Torts'system is just not working. I mean, even Pierre is calling him out for not making adjustments. It's tiring.

This is not entertaining hockey for a Rangers fan. Hockey is entertainment. Rangers are not entertaining and they're not a dominant team.

I dont care what goalie you are. Any shot on goal has a chance of being a goal. We have to match them. It seemed like only Boston shot the puck that period. LGR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How can people be so quickly to jump on Henrik's nuts when his competency is the only thing that keeps this sad-sack miserable Offense in the game, time and time again...

Great. Game hasn't had a goal. How does this negate this team playing like ****?

You're changing the argument.

People that are giving up because we're being outplayed have short memories. 3-2 NJ, '94, down 2-1 in game 6 after 2 periods with Mike Richter playing out of his mind. Not comparing the teams, but some of the same people here who are talking about hoping to go down four goals so they can take a nap aren't my kind of fans. Plain and simple. 0-0 is no place to give up on an important playoff game.

Sit Richards and Pyatt. Double shift Nash with him moving to the left wing away from Chara.
And wake the **** up.

Torts is being outcoached by a TSN hockey analyst. :shakehead

They lived up to it last series. Did the people you speak of give up on them, then, too? Probably.

That 94 team had more pushback in that game than this team has shown tonight.

Except, I never said the game is over. Number of shots on goal isn't indicative of anything. Who had more offensive zone pressure? Who had to make more ridiculous saves? Who kept shooting muffins?

And how dare you compare this team to that team. That team played to win and were great on special teams. This team..again, **** knows what they are doing.
