Post-Game Talk: ECSF #1 - 5/16/13 | New York Rangers @ Boston Bruins - Damnit!

Bad pass by Brass put it at the net in OT not backwards

Yup, need to go to the net with that. At the very least, get in further than the blueline when you make that pass. Giving up the puck at Boston's blueline, in overtime with McD driving the net, is a recipe for disaster.

Hank made some great saves, but he needs to stop at least one of those two goals. He saw both of them the whole way. Hopefully Sunday he comes out and stops everything.

We need more consistent pressure on Rask.

Need to win Game 2. Can't go down 0-2 AGAIN.

Not panicking. Feel more defeated by our own ineptitude rather than Bruins.

Still though, some guys just HAVE to step up.

We were dominated. We had a little rush in the 3rd, but other than that we were dominated. All we did is just sit back defensively. No one our team can get into the flow of the game with Torts. Notice our best player was a guy we dealt for? HATE TORTS!

Why are people bashing Brassard for that pass? That pass just missed. had it connected and Nash scored everyone would be like 'omg what a pass by BrassGod, he's a wizard out there'.

I have no problems what so ever with Brass making that pass.

Neither do I, but that pass was intended for McD. McD just completely over skated.

At the end of the day, Hank needs to be better.

Oh, enough with the refs. All the calls against the Rangers were legit and does anyone actually want more calls FOR the Rangers? So we can kill two minutes off the clock that everyone knows won't result in a goal? The Caps board is down a few.

Was the Chara goal something Hank usually saves? yeah, but it was a knuckle puck and he did what he could. Was the Krug goal a soft one by Hank's standards? Definitely.

Did Hank lose us this game? Absolutely not. Soft goal or not, the only reason this game wasnt 6-2 was Hank.

Callahan's attempts to be "creative" are laughable. Just drive hard to the net and screen the goalie, no need to be fancy. Maybe Nash is rubbing off on him.

Richards is just a punchline at this point.

I said it in the last round and I'll say it again - as good as Brassard's been offensively, he is pretty careless with the puck at times. He also made a bad play in OT in Game 5.

Nash is starting to wake up a bit but it's still not enough. He'll need to score at some point if we want to win this series, even Gabby was capable of scoring a goal here and there.

Yup. One pass at the opposing teams blue line should not turn into a goal on the other side of the ice. That type of thinking is what leads us to score 1 goal in 2 games on the road.

Lundqvist lost this game for us tonight. 2 soft goals. We've held plenty of leads before in the 3rd.

I just don't know how we can play so defensive in the OT and expect to win. Possession is 75% Boston and 25% NY

What about the other 50 ish saves he made?

I wonder what you are gonna be saying after he retires and we have some scrub in there.

I can't believe we lost to sh...ty, slow, untalented team like the Boston Bruins. If we had played like this against Washington, we would have lost in four. The Rangers just didn't want to win this one. Pathetic effort by the whole team, except maybe McDonough.

You are underrating Bruins. They are a good team. Lots of similarities to Rangers.

The goalie makes 45 or 46 saves and he's still to blame, gimme a break. Have any of you tried to stop a knuckler? Ever watch baseball? Wonder why there's so many passed balls when Dickey pitches?

just like game 5 against Washington if boyle doesn't take a penalty rangers win that game...tonight eminger doesn't take a penalty and rangers win...

horrible....too many inches Rangers lost tonight, gotta find a way to win them on Sunday...Rangers don't like doing things easy, I think they watch tape talk it over and make adjustments for game 2

Now you know why Torts is constantly yelling at and benching players when it comes to discipline. It can change the whole face of a game.

Why was Marchand so open on that? Oh wait, because he interfered with the player covering him.
If the ref is so eager to call it on Dorsett earlier in OT they gotta be consistent when its that blatant

They were jockeying, don't see an issue with no call. It was the wrong time to pinch and we got bit.

They had a chance to ice the game with a late power play.

They failed. How long until this dreadful power play is fixed. Jesus, even 12% would be acceptable at this point.

I didn't even see the game so I have no care in the world about this . . .

But when did Hank become blameless? I never understood this. The transition happened like over night, too.

When we have an inept PP (What is it now, 5%), can't do **** in the 3rd, attempt less in OT. I'm not blaming Hank for that.

This game was awful on so many levels. There's not a single player I would vote for if the poll was up.

And I'm starting to really hate Callahan. He's ****ing horrible.
