Nah, that play is all on McD. Zuc hustled as fast as he could to cover his man. McD made the worst puck misread I've ever seen.

But, crap happens thats professional sports for you.

Not a big deal. Its only 1 game. This was a feeling out game, imo. Not worried about them going forward. Plus I still think this is a 7 game series when all said and done.

This is exactly the kind of LOSING mentality that this team played with and CANNOT HAVE if they want to win.

"It's only one game". Are you kidding me. This is the playoffs. Not preseason.

Goal was definitly not on Zucc, It was on Brassard for making a brutal pass which led to the odd man rush.

Defense was pretty good overall.
Thought Nash played well.
Bottom two lines played well for the most part.
Zucc was alright.
Brassard didn't do much - bad turnover at the end.
Stepan was invisible again other than the goal he did not contribute at all
Callahan was extremely bad.
Lundqvist had a poor game. 45 saves but at least one of those first two can't go in. first one he put in himself and second was just soft.

It's truly at the point where I knew they were going to lose when it went to ot. I wonder what the all-time playoff ot record is for this franchise. I am assuming it isn't good.

Lundqvist lost this game for us tonight. 2 soft goals. We've held plenty of leads before in the 3rd.

I just don't know how we can play so defensive in the OT and expect to win. Possession is 75% Boston and 25% NY

Bad pass by Brass, BAD pinch by Mac, and Chris Rooney makes the game about himself, again. Those 2 late penalties late in regulation and the one in OT shouldn't have been called.

Alas, **** happens. On to game 2.

EDIT: and Hank needs to have those shots that went in. The first one was flukey as hell and the second was a clear shot that he stops 9 times outta 10. However, I'm not too pleased with myself either if I'm Rask.

I can't believe we lost to sh...ty, slow, untalented team like the Boston Bruins. If we had played like this against Washington, we would have lost in four. The Rangers just didn't want to win this one. Pathetic effort by the whole team, except maybe McDonough.

Just a frustrating loss. We hung in there early, took the lead, and then just let them climb back into it. Horrible pass by Brassard but other than that he was good. Hank was very good but I reckon he wants those first two back. mcD was the best D man except for the pinch.

The good: McD, MZA, Brassard, the Boyle line, I though Kreider looked better as well, goalposts
The bad: stupid passes, inconsistent refs (no they didn't cost us the game, but consistency with calls is needed) cally, nash (lifted at times but we need more), those knucklepuck goals
The Redden: the ******* horrible PP

Need to shake this one off and come out strong in game 2. Based on today this series is winnable.

Why does the team stay back and collapse on defense and never clears the puck and then expects to somehow establish a consistent forecheck that way? What the **** is wrong with Tortorella?

Uh, no he didn't. Watch it again. He tried to skate ahead of him, Lucic wrestled him back and elbowed him.

And did you watch earlier when Marchand had Zuccs in a chokehold and then punched the back of his head?

Rangers took 3 absolutely stupid penalties. Eminger, Pyatt and Moore were just brain dead on those penalties.

Rangers PP continues to be atrocious. Bruins PP is supposed to be atrocious and it looked as good as the Capitals.

Callahan played arguably the worst game of his career. Made minimum 8 dumb plays and missed an open net.

We can beat the Bruins. I'm not saying we will, but we definitely can.

But when did Hank become blameless? I never understood this. The transition happened like over night, too.

Why are people bashing Brassard for that pass? That pass just missed. had it connected and Nash scored everyone would be like 'omg what a pass by BrassGod, he's a wizard out there'.

I have no problems what so ever with Brass making that pass.

For one thing you don't pass backwards with the defenseman in deep, that's begging for numbers the other way. And he shouldn't be looking for Nash on that play. How many goals does he have?

This team needs to grind it out. It's obvious that skill plays allude them.

When will we ever stop making charitable donations to opponents in big games? The Bruins were there for the taking and we handed them this game. It was a total team effort fail, including Henrik allowing 2 softies. The PP continues to be an utter joke. Richards and Callahan made better passes to the Bruins than Bruins did. These OT failures are so frustrating.

horrible....too many inches Rangers lost tonight, gotta find a way to win them on Sunday...Rangers don't like doing things easy, I think they watch tape talk it over and make adjustments for game 2
