I don't think the rags looked particularly special. A softie and a brain fart have them up 2, but otherwise they simply played their game where we went off the rails with youthful exuberance.

Get back to our game and we can beat these clowns. I don't want to see the entire team try to play hyper physical. That takes them right out of the part of the game they are best at. Let the 4th line and Timo handle that. The rest should focus on goals.

I’ve had this underlying feeling all season that the team is built more for regular season success and the speed will be nullified by more checking and defensive play by an opponent. Not to mention shaky goaltending. Hope I’m wrong, but it looks to be rearing it’s ugly head so far.
It`s ok for young unexpirienced team to lose in the first round against good team with good goaltending. Devils have enough pieces to win Stanly Cup. It`s just a matter of are they ready or not.

It’s early. If NJ adjusts a bit things will fall for them. They got zero puck luck and how many shots will the Rangers block before someone gets hurt on their defense and things start to get through. NJ was skating fine all things considered

In a way this is kind of expected, in the sense that everyone from the fans in the seats to the players on the ice have been almost too hyped up for this to the point of it probably being detrimental.

Also, I’m not mad. I’m totally at peace if they can’t win the series. They needed to learn how to win the regular season, maybe they need more time to learn how to win in the postseason.

It’s been 20 minutes.

I don’t care how bad, 20 minutes doesn’t invalidate 82 games.

(Unless you just really feel the need to be the I told you so negative Nancy while you can because you know, in your heart, this is gonna be your best chance).

Have some goddamn faith, Jesus christ

Plenty of teams have had outstanding regular seasons and gotten swept out the door round one.

Let’s see how we come out in e 2nd l Hopefully they settle down and the coaches make some minor adjustments.
Not sure why Ruff is using the line matchups he has tried in the 1st , hopefully he adjusts that.

As long as they skate hard and get their pace and physical play where it needs to be the results are what they are. NJ’s best player is 21. The captain is 24. The top RW is 21. They have Luke and Nemec waiting in the wings. Win or lose I take NJ’s future over the Rangers. This worm will turn.
