I might get one of those Breitling carbon cased watches with the quartz movement since that all seems very modern. I started wearing adult clothes at some point in the early 1990s and my first suits were all really nice fully canvassed Italian from Canali and Barberico and similar labels. At the time, lapels were in the middle range and not as skinny as the early to mid 1980s. The classic suit is classic for a reason. You can alway wear a two button mid lapel two piece suit. Anything else comes and goes. I do find now that I am old and shriveled I prefer a narrow lapel since it is proportional but on balance I think mid lapel never looks bad. Notice nobody is wearing a double breasted suit. My choice would have been a black travel blazer with red contrast stitching on the lapel buttoner hole and working cuffs with buttons that pass for red. A black shirt and red tie and red five pocket silk linen and wool blend pants with black contrast stitching on the coin pocket. Gimmicky yes, but as a pro hockey player I could drop $1500 on an outfit I'll only wear once to the first playoff game.

That's sharp but not my style. I like the sapphire crystal but at that price they should provide 100 m of water resistance. You shouldn't have to worry about getting caught in a downpour or a sink mishap. I prefer dive style watches since I am hard on my watches and bang them into the desk or door frames. My go to is a Breitling SuperOcean. All stainless and built like a tank. I also wear an Eternal Kontiki Super since I read Thor Heyerdahl's book as a kid and always wanted one. I've got a few others I rarely wear, a Fortis GMT, and a Hanhardt Flieger Chronograph among them. Also a Victorinox Titanium chrono which is amazingly light with the titanium bracelet. I've resisted getting a Rolex. I worry that when I die they will bury me wearing it and my wife's sister will come to the cemetery and dig me up with her claws, tear apart my corpse, and sell the watch on eBay.
