8PM is broadcast start time, not game start time.
It’s a very common occurrence, and not just with hockey.

Doesn't happen in Europe. Games start when it is written, so 6pm game starts at 6pm or sometimes maybe minute two late. Its weird to see how North America does things.. I know its probably amount money spent on x amount of time but still its very different.
