Wow that is bad and I think you’re right. I find myself now wondering why I complained as much about Wally Harris, Van Hellemond, Wicks, Myers……..etc years ago vs these guys today. Not that years ago they were perfect but I think they had a better report with players and coaches. Today? See the ref last game yelling and swearing? Pathetic. Also I have always wondered why the NHL doesn’t go with the same 4 officials for the whole series like baseball?
Van Hellemond was a totally bent referee. Once, in Edmonton during the last commercial break, ahead by a goal, Derek said, "VHM hates the Bruins and if he gets a chance to screw them, he will." He then proceeded to call a cheap penalty on them, but they held on to win. (That was the great thing about the big dish, you got to eavesdrop during commercials, because you could intercept the backhaul back to the home station.)

I think it was 1988, in Game 3 in Buffalo, he called 3 minors against us in the last 5 minutes, but again we held onto win.

I’ve always thought of this rivalry as the old Sox and Yankees. And one of these days we’ll be the Yankees of 2004, until then I expect we’ll be the Yankee teams that made us miserable for dozens of years. So I’m nervous tonight, but optimistic.

That’s how I’ve been feeling. At SOME point it’s gotta turn around, right?

Not now though. Please.

I hope you use a cart
Got invited out for a round this weekend on a walking only course. No way.

Wish i wasn't listening to Felger earlier so i didn't go into this game knowing a Game 7 would be the only game on the league schedule Saturday, at prime-time on ABC and Hockey Night in Canada, and you also have the overcompensator Chris Rooney reffing tonight. The big hit of copium is that it's Toronto and if anyone would slip on the banana peel more than the Bruins it's them, but i feel like that can only happen so many times before it stops. These 8pm starts on a weekday blow.

They had 2 double days off to line it up then sent Kozari to do game 5.You can bet your life the league wants game 7.
