Take your anxiety and dread and pessimism and convert it into love and faith and maybe we can collectively shift the cosmic energy into a winning direction for our Leafs.

We all know the worst case scenario here, since we've seen it for years. But there's another possibility here, so let's believe it's our time.

Go Leafs Go!!!

Please dont put us through another game 7 😭

Let's start the same. Score first. This time please hold onto the lead for more than 22 seconds.

Build on the lead. Finally, put them away.

Simple three step plan.

I don’t have faith in Sammy. That stinker was the difference in game 5 and Vasi is rounding into form.

That said, it’s time for the big boys to carry this team into round 2.

Guess who wasn't on all the teams that failed to close out series in the past 6 years ?

O'Reilly, Schenn, McCabe, Samsonov, Knies, Bunting, Giordano, Liljegren, Acciari, Jarnkrok, Kampf, Lafferty. There's people talking about this teams inability to close out series in the past. This is not the same team, far from it.

Leafs get it done tonight. Our stars had a "down" game, statistically at least in game 5. That likely won't happen again here in game 6. We saw Tampa put together some of their best efforts in games 3 and 4, and we still overcame them. It will be really difficult for them to replicate that kinda game again. Despite the softie Sammy let in last game we were so close to going to OT.

I think it's going to be the most physical game of the series, Keefe needs to be prepared. I hope there's no Holl, but if there is he needs to be smart. No defensive zone starts for him, don't start him after a big goal/play/momentum shift. We run Matthews/JT/ROR on separate lines, so the C spot is matchup proof. Defensive zone starts for just the top 2 pairs, only throw Holl in a D zone start IF the Kucherov line had a long shift on the previous play. It is what it is, Holl is being exposed, if we're gonna play him just shelter him.

This will be a chess match between Cooper/Keefe, I think Keefe has learned from the past by now.

If so, we are toast.

The thing that will piss me off the most if we lose this series is we'll hear about how our top players can't get it done when this is the 2nd series in a row where our top players are absolutely clobbering Tampa's in points.
They make a logical argument that Tampa's top 4 forwards have a caphit 11.5 million lower than ours which allows them to have much more depth scoring.

The series has still been this close even with Tampa's star forwards underperforming. What on earth will happen if those stars step it up these last 2 games? Their stars are famous for stepping up when they need to, and ours are infamous for disappearing when it matters most.

I made a post yesterday pointing out that there are only 4 leafs that have played all 10 elimination losses. Marner, Matthews, Nylander, Reilly. THEY are the problem.

I showed that in those 10 games the leafs have tried working SIXTEEN different defensemen with them. And THIRTY-ONE other forwards. Three different goalies.

So your argument is pretty strange.

"Hey guys, we tried surrounding the core with different players EVERY year, and we still always lose the elimination games. But this years different. We tried surrounding the core with different players again."

Like... huh?

Dear Aloysius, my mama used to warn me about seeking instant gratification. Should I hope the leafs win tonight and be happy tonight or hope the leafs lose games 6 and 7 and look forward to a long doozy of a summer full of drama, consternation, disappointment, hopeless hope, and fruitless anticipation. Asking for the friend in my head - Jimma the pansy who won't come out to speak for himself and not Curtis the protector.

I believe JT has now played in 10 of 11 with Marner, Matthews, Nylander, and Reilly.

Keefe has been behind the bench for 8 of 11.

Always appreciate the effort that goes into making these posts. That said, it's not up to Keefe to get this team ready. If these guys need someone to get them ready then we have no shot. These guys are pros, it's the biggest game of their lives for most of them (not for guys that have won cups, obviously they've been in bigger games) and they should 100% be ready when it's time to play, more ready than they've ever been.

I'm Ready
==========
I am ready, as ready as anybody can be
I am ready, ready as anybody can be
I am ready for you, I hope you ready for me

I got a axe-handled pistol on my graveyard frame
That shoot tombstone bullets, wearing balls and chain
I'm drinking TNT, I'm smoking dynamite
I hope some screwball start a fight

'Cause I'm ready, ready as anybody can be
I am ready for you, I hope you ready for me

All you pretty little chicks with your curly hair
I know you feel like I ain't nowhere
Well, stop what you're doing, baby, come over here
I'll prove to you baby that I ain't no square

Because I'm ready, as ready as anybody can be
I am ready for you, I hope you ready for me

I been drinking gin like never before
I feel so good I want you to know
One more drink, I wish you would
I takes a whole lotta loving to make me feel good
Muddy Waters – Feel Like Going Home
'Cause I'm ready, as ready as anybody can be
I am ready for you, I hope you ready for me

Agree! If these players need the coach to motivate them, then it’s over. They should be all fired up. Hoping ROR can get inside our core’s heads and finally help get this team over that cursed hump! One scary point, though, is that Tampa’s core players haven’t scored a lot, yet the Lightning have generally outplayed us. Whereas our core has led the way in points, yet have generally been outplayed. The first 5-10 minutes will be very telling. Let’s hope this team finally comes out on fire and takes it right to Tampa, and never looks back! Finish every check on these SOBs, and let’s finally get it out of our zone and into theirs, and hopefully start getting them hemmed in for long periods! GLG!!!

I've really lost all patience with Keefe. I said before game 5 that Bunting and Liljegren needed to be playing. The notion of not changing a winning lineup was stupid considering they had often been outplayed. It should have been obvious to everyone how much Holl was struggling and that Bunting offers a lot more than Lafferty. But of course he's reactive instead of proactive.

Sticking with the Caps/Leafs theme.

O'Reilly gets the OT goal tonight that Kuznetsov got for the Caps vs Pens.

Demon slayed.

Pathway to the Cup opened up.

Need a win tonight boys. Can’t let this series get to game 7, our boys won’t be able to handle the pressure.

Did you guys watch the Bruins/Panthers game 6. Wow. Passion. Grit. Determination. Speed. Hate. An all-out fu*king war.

Sorry but the Leafs have nothing on either of those teams. When comparing, it's so easy to see how fragile, weak and soft this Toronto team really is. It all becomes so obvious when you watch the Florida/Boston series and put them side-by-side. Those two teams are full of rugged soldiers. By comparison the Leafs are full of pushovers who are afraid to get dirty. Their top 3 or 4 guys (we all know who they are) are super talented but also super soft. And they aren't winning a anything when their top line is full of these butterflies. Sorry but this is the way it is.

They don't stand a chance.

Tampa Bay comes out blasting in game 6 and ruins the Leafs, sending it back to Toronto for yes another game 7.

And everyone knows what happens there.

This movie is complete even before we watch it.
Hey um excuse me sir…. Could you kindly GO AWAY. Thanks.

Sincerely,

A REAL Fan
