I know "It's just a game," but I woke in a foul mood today. I'm as miffed at the team coming out in their first home playoff game since 2014 and giving up 3 goals as I am the bogus call in OT.

I know it will never happen, but I'd love the NHL to follow the NBA's lead and publish a 'Last two minutes' report on the officiating in playoff games.

Not that it would change anything, but I'd take some solace in knowing the league at least acknowledged poor officiating. Evaluations should insure these refs don't advance when there are fewer playoff series; question is, will the Bruins?

They need to take out Karlsson. It can be done. But I'd have a guy on his ass pestering him. Hitting him. Harassing him. Just stay on him

That’s got to be matching minors. Honestly – if you’re going to set the standard, you’ve got to call it the right way. I have no skin in this game at all. But if you’re going to set a standard, you’ve got to call it both ways. That’s a hit to the head (by Ryan). That’s got to be called. If you’re going to call the next one, then call it. That is not well done at all. That’s a big break for Ottawa

Honestly, Kevan Miller has really impressed me this series.

he has been amazing to me. I've never seen this smooth skating confident side of Miller before. The way he has played there is no doubt we lose him to LV in the expansion draft if he gets exposed

too easy to blame the defense

morrow was fine and cross looked shell shocked but wasnt bad either, our main issue is bergeron marchand pastrnak and krejci - if two of those guys have a great performance tomorrow we can take game 4, then get some guys back and hope the other two step it up and we can win this in 6 or 7

I agree with the shell shocked part but not the " he wasn't bad" part. I thought he looked lost.

Just heard Bergy's faceoff stats for the series and last night. That's a concern too.

Brassard cheats and is never called. Bruins got thrown out of the faceoff circle a ridiculous amount of times last night. Add in the linesman's inability to drop the puck cleanly and Bergeron's numbers were terrible last night.

I liked Pierre more when he was truly inside the glass and not a main part of the broadcast.

That said he knows his stuff and is passionate and if this sets him off you know the Bruins were wronged.

He usually stops and chats with me .

Last night he told me that he thought the B's had a very bright future and he really
liked what he saw in some of the young players.

The refs got many boos last night for this. ...rightfully so

Likewise. It's been a long day.

The only remedy is for the B's to crush them tomorrow

I am just hoping that karma comes around and we get a call to win us a game like the sens got last night. It is hard enough to win with all the injuries on defense nevermind the refs cheating for the other team. Clearly the sens are not a great team so this is still winnable

Lets face it - they should have killed the penalty. As bad as it was and as wrong as it was - the penalty should have been killed off.

I like that Cassidy basically said the same thing.

The other thing (and I have not read through the thread at all) is - what was Tommy Cross doing out there? He blew the coverage.

Without any of our D coming back in to the lineup - we have little hope of coming back and taking this. Hard to overcome 4 of our top 6 being out.

That being said - we can still win this series.
Let's take game 4 and go from there.

Craptastic mood reigned here as well today. Just leeme alone.

Sounds like Carlo and/or Miller could be back tomorrow.

LF, hope you are safe from the refs.

Listened to Ottawa sports radio (given that that's the radio I get here) for about 2.5 hours today. Pretty interesting stuff that was spread across a lot of dif shows:

-Announcers agreed the OT call was awful, and that Ryan also sold the face punch. One morning announcer mentioned the too many men in OT, but for the most part the discussion centered around Peel and the bad call

-Played a clip of how a tearful Nash owned it and didn't blame the refs

-Played a clip of Cassidy's response to the National media vs the NESN interview, and how they differed (he was way more mad for the local media).

-The Ottawa market is very aware of how bad Marchand is playing, and is surprised by the low shot count from Pasta

-Bergeron being beat in the dot for the series is surprising to them (and me)

-Boro may be coming back soon (greaaaaaat)

-That Anderson on the Backes goal looked like a goalie that is starting to break down. Technically he looks like he is having a lot of problems bouncing in and out of his stance.

Here's my problem with the bolded;

They didn't choose to not kill the penalty off. The tried to overcome being dealt a lousy hand, which was entirely the fault of the referee.

The referee chose to make a terrible call. (and yes it was a choice)

It's very easy to say that they should have killed the penalty off, but there is another team on the ice doing their best to prevent that from happening.

There is nobody else on the ice that is forcing the inept referee to make that call.

Easy to say they should have killed the penalty off.

Much easier to simply get the call right.

The B's got screwed...again.

I felt really bad for Nash. He's been a solid depth guy for us this series and you could tell he really felt like he let the team down. I hope the guys lift him up for the next game and he comes out flying.
