Delayed penalty would be wiped out and the Leafs stay on the PP. It defies reason but that's the rule

I've always, always, always said that if you score on the delayed penalty, you absolutely should still get the opposing player off the ice (in this case, to make it 4 v 4). I don't understand why being smart tactically (pulling the goalie and retaining possession for as long as possible while trying to score) means you shouldn't get the actual PP. It's not like the goalie pulled is a true PP. You can't let the other team gain possession even for a split second.
