Well He's related to Mr. Glass. but if he hurt his jaw I could see some potential issues if he hurt his nose same thing..Im not sure how that takes you out of a game for days tho. Dude is SUPER fragile

I agree. Was at Game 1 and expected to see a ton of Bruins fans and was pleasantly surprised. It was one of the most fun games at PNC in a long time. The place was rollicking almost the entire game. And it should be said, the building is not getting invaded the way it used to. That was a 95% Canes crowd.
Unfortunately, this is part of the evolution of having a contending team. It's why Bruins fans have the reputation they do, as well.

Yeah TDA alluded to this in his postgame interview too.Goading Marchand into that stupidly blatant penalty given the history between him and our franchise (just remember his antics against Williams in 2019) is the exact kind of play that will have an entire team willing to run through a wall for you.
I have said it all along and believe it more with every game he plays. He is going to make it extremely difficult if not impossible for us to not have him at least being our AHL starter and first callup next year, if not outright backup.
Judging by postgame comments and seeing that he practiced, I think Raanta is probably fine and would be able to play and play well if called upon. But with the team up 2-0 in the series and Pyotr looking plenty capable, we'll go with him for the next couple in hopes he can get us at least 1 win before Raanta or Freddie is back to 100%,Yeah TDA alluded to this in his postgame interview too.
Really hoping to hear some good news on Raanta and/or Freddie soon. Love Pyotr, completely comfortable with him starting. But not comfortable with those behind him...
The obvious solution is to ban all hits to the head regardless of the initial point of contact. That would effectively eliminate 80-90% of all hitting I’m afraid. If you want to see what this looks like, watch some international hockey, that’s the way the international rule has been for quite a while. It’s really not bad.Deliver? Yes. Unfortunately, the first hit that came to mind was the Doug Weight hit on Sutter.
Clean? Absolutely. Major problem in that the skater had his head down making the head part of the contact on a body check? Yes.
There are only 2 ways to get rid of this kind of head contact in the NHL:
1) Coach players to keep their heads up at all times.
2) Stop allowing players with their heads down to be checked.
#2 is an NFL type solution and I don't think the NHL will go this direction as it only encourages skating with your head down, which will lead to more injuries.
I don't like seeing anyone look like that on the ice, but if the league is going to allow those kind of hits, I'd much rather it be our players dishing them out than receiving. We've lost more than our fair share of man games to these kind of hits before. The obvious solution is to ban all hits to the head regardless of the initial point of contact. im not proposing or supporting one thing or the other, but just want to point out that the NHL has made a conscious decision to risk player injury by allowing these big hits.
as for me, i loved seeing svetch‘s legal destruction of Lindholm, I’m less in favor when one of my team’s player is stretchered off the ice.
DoPS Department of Pretend SafetyLooks like Marchand and Forbort both got hit with 5K fines, Marchand for the slash and Forbort for the high-stick to Teuvo.
Forbort's high stick was suspension-worthy. Clearly intentional and dangerous.Looks like Marchand and Forbort both got hit with 5K fines, Marchand for the slash and Forbort for the high-stick to Teuvo.
Super-callous fragile lipstick extra halitosisDid you mean:
Until DoPS starts suspending these kinds of things (the biased announcers even though the Forbort high-stick would get a suspension given how nasty it was) instead of a measly $5k fine, they'll continue to do it. Bet if we did it each would be 1-2 games.Looks like Marchand and Forbort both got hit with 5K fines, Marchand for the slash and Forbort for the high-stick to Teuvo.
Well this is shitty. I saw this car on the way into the game, apparently an unhappy Bruins fan slashed his tires afterwards

Its a giant rat in a yellow tshirt turned into a Marchand jersey with 'kill the rat' on it....There is... a lot going on in this picture.

Ya know, BBs didn't really retaliate that much or go headhunting for Svech. Either they're as soft as their message board says or more likely they could see from ice level that is was clean
That would mean he's not in protocol I would think. Good news.
