This really is how the NHL always has been. The refs sometimes will let stuff go until it escalates just a notch higher. Tkachuk tried to punch Bertuzzi while he was on his knees and Bertuzzi slashes him back. I don't mind the refs letting the mutual stick work go initially but then jump on it to cool it down a bit when it amps up a little too far.Can anyone explain how Tkachuck takes a nice whack at someone and the ref is fine with it.
2 seconds later, he receives the same slash and all of a sudden his slash is a penalty?
Why is the action ok and then not ok after someone else's action?
