Ovechkin is washed up. Guy barely moves his legs. At this point all he's there for is to stand in one spot on the PP and shoot when it comes to him.

If they can't bury this team then they don't deserve to win.

How anybody who was expecting a high flying first period after 5 days off and playing a low event team like Washington is beyond me. They had the better of the play for the first 20 minutes. Washington did nothing and barely spent any time in the O zone.

ESPN break: Suban said the call on Trocheck was not a penalty. Said that Lapierre has to hold on to his stick. When Steve Levy asked Messier if he liked the Rempe call, Suban chimed I and said “soft” Messier said he didn’t like the call.
