McIlrath tribute video?
You’d think so, reading the Caps threads. He’s played all of 9 games over two seasons there, racking up two assists and 12 PIMs. Yet he’s supposedly going to 1) beat up Rempe before Wilson does and 2) contribute positively to helping the Caps D shut down the Rangers offense.

I can’t wait until the Rangers score a PP on that yutz’s first penalty (for holding or roughing).

All signs point to yay, so the pessimist in me is expecting boo.

Reckon refs try and manage the series a great deal. Gotta give Ovi a few gimme goals for the headlines.

Hope I'm wrong!

Good vibes at the garden after last night. Let’s keep that up boys! I’ll be at a midtown bar at 3 with my fanatics Kakko jersey on.

So. Again. We have their coach. You’d have to think that Lavi will know how to exploit whatever nonsense defensive system the Caps are going to try to play to hang in there, right?

So important to come out strong and take the series by the balls from the first minute.

Why do the NBA playoffs start at the same time as the NHL playoffs these days? I remember when the NBA was like a couple weeks behind.
The NBA playoffs usually start (and end) before the NHL playoffs, IIRC. The NBA added the play in games, so that pushes things later for them.

That assumes they play the same system they played under Lavi, which I don't think is the case. Carbery has done a good job there. Washington is the 5th worst team in the league in terms of scoring, and they are right in the middle in terms of keeping the puck out of their own net.

Carbery is the MacGyver of NHL coaches, cobbling together victories out of hair pins and duct tape. They are absolutely going to have a strategy to frustrate our rush game. They want to turn this series into trench warfare because they know that, and staying out of the box, is the only way to beat us.

Lavi knows what he is doing, though. Unlike Gallant, he will make adjustments to counter whatever Washington is trying to do. Even if Washington's gameplan works, I don't know that it will be enough to beat us in this series.
