There is another tweet that said Krug may not play in the series against the Sens, not just game one.

Re reading the tweet I kind of second guessed my first instinct and wondered if they meant Krug was unlikely to play in the series and Carlo is just guaranteed to miss game 1.

I thought it would have been the opposite.

Damn you Ovechkin, not even a penalty on the play.

I read that as Krug is unlikely to play....in this series.

Carlo was likely concussed and is likely out a week at minimum following concussion protocol.

That second tweet almost makes it seem like Krug's injury isn't that bad.

Amazing that neither OV's nor Hedman's hits were penalized whatsoever nor looked at by DOPS. OV came in directly from behind and mashed him face first into the boards. It is a penalty every single time in today's NHL and nothing. What's worse is this resulted in the Bruins losing a key player at a key position.

Not advocating for a suspension for OV, but the inconsistency between the on-ice officials and DOPS is maddening.

I honestly do not know what a penalty is anymore, nor what a "good goal" looks like.

Here's hoping Carlo is back on Saturday.

McAvoy was likely to sign with Boston this week, but the process was perhaps accelerated by the fact the Bruins lost two of their top four defensemen to injury in recent days. Torey Krug wrenched a knee vs. Ottawa on Thursday and Brandon Carlo suffered an upper body injury Saturday in the final game of the regular season vs. the Caps. Neither Krug nor Carlo were on the ice Monday morning at Warrior Ice Arena for the start of practice

The Bruins have offered no information as to when they might return to action.

Maybe someone with access to Sweeney could actually ask about Krug? It's like we are still in the ****ing newspaper age with this team.

Do you have no knowledge of the cautious way NHL teams talk about injuries in the playoffs? I hope they say nothing about them and give the Sens nothing to plan for.

No one is asking for specifics, but a clear answer on a return time would be nice. Or some clarity on what he said at the presser

I am quite excited to see McAvoy, wish it was under better circumstances. Here is to hoping he makes a statement and is here to stay.

The Bruins are 5-16-3 vs. Eastern playoff teams this year lol. That's kind of crazy.

It really pissed me off. If the B's weren't so short handed I think Kevan would have gone at #8 . He was having "words" with Ovi and the guys in stripes stepped between them. Killer was not happy about that hit on Carlo. I know Ovi is a big tough guy and out weighs Miller but I think Kevan would win that one.

I don't think Carlo or Krug will play in round # 1

So who gets the call for defense ?

A "clear answer on return" sounds pretty "specific" to me. Personally, I want as little as possible said about any injury. Better yet, lie to me like they did about Yzerman's "upper body" injury that turned out to be his knee. This isn't the NFL, where you have to release injury status and put your players in harms way because of it.

So lie, lie, lie, Butch! Screw the press and the fans. We are entitled to nothing if it could negatively affect the game plan.

Head injuries are funny. You can be in living hell for 3 days and then wake up one day feeling fine. Tough to say for Carlo at this point.

Or just go with "body injury" like they did for Bergeron in 2013.

Although in retrospect that actually turned out to be true. :(

I think this series is going to boil down to how good the Bergeron line can be. Ottawa's strategy this year against the Bruins was to have Pageau shadow Bergeron as much as humanly possible, and free up their top two lines centered by Turris and Brassard, along with Karlsson, to go against the Bruins other lines.

The Pageau line took a beating against the Bergeron line possession-wise, but Ottawa made up for it by their other lines carrying the play against Boston's other lines. Issue for Boston in the regular season was that the Bergeron line could not buy a goal at ES despite the massive territorial advantage. Bergeron still managed to net Boston's only goal against Ottawa at ES this season, but they still shot at just over 3% on the season.

I'm starting to think Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak may be a good idea for this one. Just try to overwhelm the Senators by so much in that 30% of the time they're on the ice that they have to adjust.
