Thinking the experience of a close playoff series will be a lot better than getting steamrolled by the Caps so I'm pretty excited for this one. I have no expectations for this roster, especially the blue line, so everything from now on is gravy.

Yep. If we can go 1-1, comes back to Boston for a 5 game series, 3/5 games in Boston. Game 3 Monday, 8 days away... If they're good to go by then it'd be huge. Obviously we haven't heard anything besides "they're day-to-day" yet, and I don't want to get too far ahead, but hopefully.

We need Pasta and Marshy to light it up. Their speed and creativity will be what collapses the 1-3-1. Need Backes and Beleskey to hit everything that moves. Need Bergy, Krejci, and Chara to be in the God mode they're capable of, and Rask needs to outduel Anderson.

Time to see what 'Playoff' Backes and Beleskey can do.

This is 100% the reason they were brought in. I'm excited about that.

Thanks Columbus!

Sounds like Wednesday night might be game 1.

Game 2, Saturday.

We should know in about an hour - Canadian TV is trying to sort things out and the French network TVA is being stubborn. Complicating things is both Ottawa and Montreal have to work around this group

Wow, we definitely lucked out. Probably didn't that match up after those lackluster games against Ottawa and Washington. But who knows, maybe we deserved a break after having all kind of bad luck the 2 years prior.

What a strange playoff-system in which 1 win/loss makes the difference between getting to play the best playoff-team and the worst one.

We all know that the Bruins didn't fare very well this season vs the Senators. But, how about some positive career numbers vs Ottawa:

  • Pastrnak = 8GP; 3G-4A-7P; 0.88p/g
  • Krejci = 45GP; 12G-22A-34P; 0.76p/g
  • Bergeron = 64GP; 20G-28A-48P; 0.75p/g
  • Marchand = 34GP; 11G-10A-21P; 0.62p/g
  • Stafford = 49GP; 8G-20A-28P; 0.57p/g
  • Spooner = 13GP; 4G-3A-7P; 0.54p/g
  • Moore = 38GP; 7G-6A-13P; 0.34p/g

  • Chara = 66GP; +10; 9G-22A-31P; 0.47p/g
  • K. Miller = 11GP; +5; 0G-2A-2P; 0.18p/g

  • Rask = 20GS; 8W-7L-4OTL; 2.34GAA; .921Sv%
  • Khudobin = 6GS; 5W-0L-1OTL; 1.81GAA; 0.948Sv%

The Bruins went 6-3-1 in their final 10 games of the season
The Senators went 4-4-2 in their final 10 games of the season.

Hopefully the Bruins coaching staff are watching footage of some of the more recent Senators losses against Montreal, Buffalo, Minnesota, and Winnipeg. Maybe they'll see some tactics that they can translate over to the Bruins strategy for the upcoming series.

This really stands out to me... If Rask has a tough game 1 or worse if he looses game 1 badly I go with Doby and hope that he can get in their heads the way goaltenders like Holtby can get into the B's heads. It doesn't matter whether you make 7 mil or 1 mil in the playoffs, if a goalie gets into the other teams heads they'll be fighting the puck.

Hell baby
Already got my hate up

Took 5 seconds of thinking about Ottawas system

Gonna be interesting to see if they can choke the life out of a playoff game. I wouldn't bet against them because god damn they are the most boring team in the league

I was so happy to find out that Toronto lost tonight. After Saturday's game, I didn't think i could watch a Boston vs. Washington series without breaking a TV or computer. They are such a dirty team, and they do have our number, which is even more frustrating.

Now we just need to find out about Carlo & Krug. But if they both can go, then I feel pretty good about this series. They can definitely beat this Ottawa team.

Throw the regular season stuff out, Bruins played well going into the PO's and Sens limped in, should be a good one, steal Game 1!

The Sens beat us literally 3 nights ago...

The best thing going for the B's right now and in this matchup is that there's no shootout. The Bruins had 4 more ROW than the Senators this year, and Ottawa is the only playoff team with a negative goal differential.

Even though we've been bad against them, I really think across a 7 game series they'll manage to figure out Ottawa's system and beat it, just like they did against Boucher in 2011.
