Shouldn't even have been a question whether Davidson would play. I didn't understand why he didn't start the past two games (injury?) He's been very solid, and exactly the kind of partner you want with Beaulieu. Nesterov has not had one good meaningful game since joining the Habs. I can only recall that assist to Chucky in OT.

Price apparently has enjoyed King's game. He was asked what the difference between last year and this year is, and pointed to the dressing room seats for King and Shaw. I suppose that's why he's still in the lineup: the intangibles he brings in the dressing room having had previous experience. That said, he is so terrible at his one job. I had to downrate him in NHL17, cuz his abilities are overinflated.

As for CJ and the handling of Chucky (whom I love), I totally got what he was doing with game 1. It was clear that he was giving him the right motivation, and it worked. You just have to look at who was on the ice when, and I think having Chucky rediscover his "swagger" is far more effective than just slotting him in on the 2nd or third lines at the start. CJ knows what he's doing.

I'm definitely at peak max for Weber appreciation. The beginning of the season was a long time ago, and this is when it was supposed to matter. I hate to say it, or rather it's internally hard, but I think MB did the right thing, simply given the overall team we had.

I'm calling a huge game from Lekhonen tonight. Still debating whether to take the bus over to NYC to watch at that bar.

Mitchell is gonna come out of the gate with speed and well see the difference. Hes a standup guy and a warrior. Julien might not know him yet but hes exactly the type of player he loves.

I've always thought Mitchell was grossly underrate. Plus many forget that he's a gars de chez nous. It seems only to count if you're Franco, which is silly. Think about how much pride Mitchell has for playing for the Habs. It shows in his play. Solid all over the ice and his speed is disruptive.

What was infurtiating about last game is that we had so many chances that we botched, while NYR's goals were all perfect executions. I don't think Lundqvist made ridiculous saves. He's the opposite of Price -- he makes easy saves look hard. Def had a great game, but we need to stop shooting right at him. Whenever we go high, or just try to snipe, we light him up. Chucky and Radu are perfect weapons against him. Patch too, if he tried to get inside position.

Who do you a play ahead of him? McCarron is not NHL ready and Flynn is awful.

I guess Martinsen could play ahead of him but that's pretty much it....

Ideally McCarron but I even rather have Flynn over King... what exactly does King bring? Slowest NHL player and can't even make a proper pass. He might be the worst forward to ever play for the Canadiens in the last 5 years.

Fans demands following last game:

- Mitchell in instead of King or Martinsen - check
- Galchenyuk off the 4th line - check
- Galchenyuk at center and Shaw on the wing - check
- Nesterov out and Davidson in - check

I'm not getting the King hate here. He's kept the puck down low & thus it can be argued he is making the Rangers D tired on some shifts. He had a nice chance last game and would have had more with a little better puck luck.

Habs fans, upset over a 4th line utility winger. I'll laugh if he scores tonight

I think he is actually playing well out there. He's had his chances. Not sure what people truly expect.

Mitchell is a lot more physical than most people assume. When he's on his game, he's pretty fearless. His experience and his intelligent play should be very helpful tonight.

Great lineup changes, just what everyone wanted too.

- Galchenyuk centering and not on the 4th line.
- Martinsen and Nesterov out for Mitchell and Davison.

Feels good to have a competent coach.

Good ol' HabsEmpire or whatever our fanbase is called. There's always one player who has 50% love & 50% hate.

IMO, Martinsen should be the disappointment & people should be hailing Mitchell in, not wasting their time worried about DK.

He is using his size down low in Rangers end.

I see it like this too. He uses his size well in the same way that Petry does when he plays well, to get the puck. Not to make monstrous hits when someone has already gotten rid of the puck. I have my problems with him too but he really has not been playing terrible.
