No he's not. We're shooting at him

Ovie came down and turned to block a shot late in the first period. However you want to spin it, Oates has done a great job working with Ovie, and the Caps in general.

Yes its sad. Oates > Torts.

Why are there two nearly identical versions of that weird Bud Light couch love commercial?

They are really just making it too easy for Holtby, especially on the PP.......get the puck to the net and crash the net.....guys are looking for the perfect pass and giving up shots !!

I'm not really complaining. We're all amped and it's an elimination game and we're all saying whatever comes to out minds during these three periods. A lot of it is going to be negative. We all want to win this and Lord knows I'm saying way worse **** here at my house than I am on HF. But Brian Boyle is not and should not be the guy to look to in key situations. If he's effective in this game and he comes out and keeps us in it well then egg on my face and I'll happily apologize because honestly they could put a ****ing squirrel out there if that's what it takes to win this game. But we need our star players to step up in a big way. I'm disgusted at them right now and the fact that Brian mother****ing Boyle is our "man" to look for, makes me even more disgusted at the way our star players have been playing in this series.

Despite how anxious this game is making me, the bolded sentence made me burst out laughing. Thank you for that.

I see what you're saying, my bad.

Our players are bad because they are badly coached.

The same bad coach who won 50 games last yr? :shakehead

The Rangers have no resemblance of creativity or puck possession. That to me is personnel problem. They do not have the skills to stickhandle in the zone getting unmolested..

:dunno:

If they continue playing like this, it's probably 50/50 on who wins. Which is fine.

You said the PP is bad because the players are bad. Even though some players may be overrated this team has as much talent as most teams in the league. It's definitely the coaching. Torts doesn't play his best players. We definitely have enough talent to be at least average. We have:

Moore: Not Green, but he can handle the puck and get it on net.

Stralman: Can handle the puck and get it on net.

MDZ: I know he's not great, but he's a good passer.

Callahan: Not the most offensively talented player in the league, but being in front of the net is his forte. If he's anything, he's a PP specialist.

Richards: He's always been a PP specialist, sure he sucks this year, but last year he was pretty good and still the PP sucked. Plus, even if he's on the downside of his career, I'd think that the PP, where you don't have to skate fast or be physical would be his forte.

Brassard: Great passer, good shot

Zucc: Great passer

Stepan: Great passer, good shot

Nash: Excellent all around player. Yeah he's been bad this series, but how good was our PP in the regular season when he was excellent?

Are these guys, not enough to make our PP at least mediocre? No one is asking to be #1 in the league.

I don't think there's any players that can fix this pp, not even Gretzky or Lemieux on the same team. Win or lose, Sullivan needs to go

We had a $9,000,000 3rd line center in Holik.

We had a $8,000,000 AHL Defenseman in Redden.

We now have a $12,000,000 4th Line Center in Richards.

Can anyone explain to me why Torts put one of our worst wingers this series, Nash, with our best passer this series, Brassard? It's like we're wasting Brass's playmaking by neutering him with Nash.

the pp sucked all season , G is the only one that can make a quick play and at least hits the net most of the time .

Seriously. I see why Richards shouldn't be on the PP but Girardi really hasn't been that bad. He has a big shot and he's been getting on net this series more than not. He's no QB, but he's not trying to be either.

I think the logic is that Nash needs to get going in this team is going to get anything done and Brassard is the most likely to help him in that area.

However, I'd rather have them on different lines, so the Caps put their 1st pair against Nash and Brassard's line gets a better matchup.
