Damn, Pax had a goal on his stick on that clean breakaway. When nothing works ... nothing works.

Of course he only skates when he knows he can have a breakaway. He's gutless.

I'd rather captain Gionta back at this point.

By 2014 he was washed up thanks to a few injuries but yeah he was more of a prototypical leader-type of guy. I'll never forget how clutch he was in 2010 and 2011 along with Cammy. Patches hasn't had those moments much (series winners vs TB and BOS in 2014 stand out but otherwise, he hasn't come through when we needed him to. The other side of the sword is how bad our offence would be if not for him and his 35 goals this year not to mention how many were OT winners, albeit in 3-on-3 I realize). He's like a poor man's Kessel and I feel he'd need to go to an elite team a la Penguins to fade into the background and just do his thing.

Then he may finally be regarded as a non-choker in the playoffs. The pressure placed on his role as the team's sniper extraordinaire was one Stephane Richer often faced hard times with and even he had great playoff production but it might be worse cause he ain't a local guy AND he wears the C. Doubt we see Patches traded unless it's in a plum of a deal that nets us a great youngster or two. Unfortunately for him when he's a UFA he'll wanna cash in after his poor contract he signed and that'll limit his options to weaker teams with room to spend $5.5-6.5M per year on a sniper.

Usually they deploy Galchenyuk on an offensive zone faceoff, if you lose that faceoff you spend most of that shift chasing the puck. Can't score without the puck. I would switch back to the lines of last game at the end.
If they deploy Dannault it doesn't matter if you win the faceoff or not.

I'll take the 40 percent chance we win. And if we don't then I'll take the chance we can get the puck back. Enough with playing guys who can't freaking score.

Don't see anything from Galchenyuk. Just weak any time he doesn't have the puck and not fast enough to make space. Centre or not, just not what he needs to be.
