ECHL in Greensboro in 2025-26: Greensboro Gargoyles

This is quite simply not true. Zawyer has completely tanked the Gladiators in the ~3 seasons that they have been running the organization. I am also hearing similar things out of Allen. Zawyer running this many teams is starting to be concerning.

In the last two seasons, it has become glaringly obvious that the Gladiators have an end date unless significant changes are made. Ownership appears to be incompetent. Anson Carter very rarely is seen around the complex. He is trying to use this ownership experience to prove to the NHL that he is able to run a team. It is very clear to everyone involved, including the NHL, that AC connot run a team and will not be getting one. That NHL bid is dead, and I can see him moving away from the Gladiators at some point soon.

Zawyer has put the team on the backburner in favor of teams that they actually own in the same division. What incentive do they have to put focus on a team that directly competes with two, and soon to be three teams that they own outright? There is not one, and Zawyer will also be leaving Atlanta by the end of the season.

Zawyer hasn't been involved with the Gladiators for at least two years. They're not even on their website anymore and, at most, they operated in a consultation role, as they do with Tahoe.

I’ve worked around the team for seven years. Zawyer was absolutely running everything last season and cleared house of the majority of their staff in the offseason. Their management contract ends after this season and they have been slowly pulling out since this past offseason.

I’ll send anyone I need to my credentials. I’ve sent multiple mods messages and I’ve emailed the email. I know my shit and get it straight from the source.

Just to clarify, you're saying Zawyer has managed the team since Alex and Anson bought the team?

Per a previous Zawyer press release:

"Join Zawyer Sports & Entertainment on our journey of advancing teams, facilities and brands to their fullest potential. Zawyer Sports owns, manages, and operates the Jacksonville Icemen, Savannah Ghost Pirates, 32 Degrees Marketing, Community First Igloo, Charlotte Checkers, and Gastonia Baseball Club. Zawyer Sports consults on operations for the Atlanta Gladiators, Tahoe Knight Monsters, and Ghost Pirates Ice."

That is exactly what I am saying. Steve Brown and roughly 75% of the front office last season had employment contracts with Zawyer. Multiple staff members had been relocated from Savannah to Atlanta to oversee the operations of the front office. Zawyer was completely in control of the business side of the team from what I could tell. It is unclear how much Anson or Alex actually contribute to the team aside from monetarily.

Zawyer employees were running this team up until the start of the 2024-25 season. Believe me or don't. Ive worked with the team for seven years. I lived with both zawyer and gladiator employees. I had to give a report in the incident that got Steve Brown fired. To say that they were only consulting any time other than this season is not the truth.
