I mean Rempe is fine as a 4th liner, this take is that he's some unplayable plug is a myth perpetuated by the Devils board. He's fine as a player, nothing special but he's a 4th liner. They exist.
He is an unplayable plug in my mind too. He sucks at the game of hockey.

He's living off his 2 points in his first 4 games and the first fights. Enjoy him.

Rempe did his job... And that was to have Florida defensemen looking over their shoulders before playing the puck and slowing down their transition... Mission accomplished.
That’s too funny I’m sure the Panthers were looking over their shoulders all night….where do some people get this stuff. lol

93 was quiet after his neutral zone encounter with The Lomberg Express.

93 and 20 have been quiet all year 5on5. They're the two Rangers who absolutely benefit the most from the pp. But 93 and 20 are also really good pkers and playing smart so even when they aren't producing 5on5, they're usually nullifying their opposition 5on5 as well.

My team struggling to score is not as bad as your team struggling to score. Is this really worth talking about here?

I think people listen to ESPN a bit too much and think that the Panthers have been better than they've been. Honestly it's been a completely even series. I'd even argue that the Rangers were better in game 1 and the Panthers in game 2 despite the wins being reversed.

I picked the Rangers in 7 before the series started.

Igor > Bob

And as dumb as Lavi is with the Rempe shit, Paul Maurice is a worthless shit bag coach, who I think may cost the Panthers a cup by having him around.

They have one of the most stacked rosters in the league and he’s got them playing “Defensive hockey”. He sucks.

Good edit on the greater than signs. So far Bob has been better ever slightly. I hate to say it their defensive hockey has worked they could have easily won both games. Although despite the narrative they could have easily lost both too. That's the playoffs.

These teams are very close and anyone proclaiming the winner is pretending to be smarter than they actually are. Aesthetically, I preferred the Rangers Canes matchup.

In 21-22 the Panthers had by far the deepest team in the league and more than enough talent to go around on every line. We got swept by the Bolts in round 2. Run and gun hockey doesn't work in the playoffs.

For all the Rempe talk, I think what a lot miss is that Rempe is an intangibles player. He’s not there to directly make a lot of plays that lead to goals or lead to preventing goals.

But the team’s record with him in there is amazing, and a large part of that is because he brings an energy and mindset that his teammates follow in the games he plays. Hockey isn’t all pretty plays with the puck. There’s a gritty and grinding element to the game also, and the team buys in more and is sharper at playing that type of style when Rempe is in there.
Teams should have signed Andre the Giant while they had the chance.

There's been high scoring teams that have won the cup. While scoring a ton in the playoffs.

The Panthers look like they're trying to win the last 4 games (last two of the Bruins series) 2-1 or 1-0.

They're better than that.

Tampa was still a better team than the Panthers in 21-22. They didn't lose that series because they tried to run and gun. Tampa was a better team than the Panthers. Now the roles have been reversed in 2024 and I would have even said that if they played last year.

Literally same year a team that played an open offensive style won the cup and beat that same Tampa team.

My point exactly

The Panthers were just starting to be a perennial playoff team/contender in 2022. They lost to Tampa the year before in the first round in 6 games.

They made the playoffs in 2020, but were pretty borderline and may not have even made the playoffs if not for the pause that year.

I don't think they lost either of the first two matchups against them because of run and gun.

They might win the cup this year but they'll be unwatchable. I don't care what anyone says. Both games this series have been snoozefests. People say that the Canes play a defensive style. The Hurricanes are the 80s Oilers compared to them.

I'm sure. One of these times when he over commits and gives the other team an odd man rush it's going to bite you. Until then Rempe Rempe Rempe
If he studies the game, he can become like Cal Clutterbuck who's hits cause turnovers. Since the NYI don't have finishers, Cal's effectiveness becomes minimized

If Rempe learns to harness himself, he can become a useful player and have a long career

Sucks to lose on an unreviewable high stick but it is what it is. Funny how we never heard the end of the Bennett goal against Boston, but the media isn’t even acknowledging a blown call led to the OT GWG.
It wasn't really a high stick.
The crazy thing about the Bennett goal is that it was reviewed and still called a goal despite the vast majority of folks believing it should have been overturned. The circumstances led to a much bigger uproar.

In this case it was a missed call by the refs, which happens. There’s not much to discuss. It sucks that it wasn’t reviewable.
It was a correct call by the refs.
