Stamkos has only 4 even strength points in 14 playoff games? I know he excels on the PP but that's rather pathetic.

But Tampa can't lose this series. Kunitz is a lucky charm, especially against the Caps. :)

Correct me if i'm wrong but PP points count the same as even strength points yes?

Correct me if I am wrong but 5 on 5 is a little bit more common in hockey that PP. Stamkos isn't paid the big bucks to score 5 on 5 once in a blue moon.

True but if the Pens had someone with that deadly of a shot on the PP we would be looking at a 3peat right now. Yeah Kessel was hurt, making him useless but Stamkos is still better on the PP.

And when your team is that deep, doesnt matter that Stamkos is just a PP specialist. That can be the difference between winning and losing. Pens are out of the playoffs because their #1PP all of a sudden couldnt score.

"Beast Mode" Malkin had 2 ES points in 9 games. Managed to pull a -7 in the process.
Kessel had 3 ES points in 12 games. -5 for him.

pathetic

Of course it matters, it's not like Tampa Bay has been steamrolling everyone even with Stamkos not scoring 5 on 5, They have depth but the top line scoring not 5 on 5 is not exactly something you can do without and expect to win with any confidence. It worked against Boston because Boston themselves couldn't score 5 on 5 but that's not the case with the Caps so far. Tampa's top line improving its play 5 on 5 could well be the difference between winning and losing this series.

Malkin had 2 ES points in 9 games. Managed to pull a -7 in the process.
Kessel had 3 ES points in 12 games. -5 for him.

And what do you know, this was a major factor for the Pens elimination.

Being effective 5x5 and on PP aren't mutually exclusive.

It's pretty clear that being one dimensional doesn't win. Evidence the caps pp in game 3. Bolts did enough in the 5vs5 dimension. Dominating in the 5vs5 dimension isn't enough.

Exactly. WASH has killed us 5v5. TB is lucky to be 2-2. Not sure how we can turn it around. I am really hoping we don't keep getting embarrassed.

Have I said anything untrue?

Sorry to "bore" you. I didn't know I was here for your entertainment.
You've been at this all series, I don't know what you're trying to achieve and I can't help but admire your stubborn commitment to this thing, but yeah, it got boring for everyone a long time ago.

Caps choke again? I hope not.
 Do you even know what "choking" means?
The Bolts were the favorites going into this series - by the hockey pundits and members here on HF.

Do you just knee jerk "choke" :dunce: for teams you don't like? It's TB that has been choking this series. That they've managed to even the series at 2-2 does not imply Caps are "choking"

I always find it entertaining when someone thinks their personal opinion applies to "everyone".

We all know the narrative changed after game 4, don't we? If not, then perhaps what he says is just a fair observation rather than a narrative meant to entertain. Regardless, I like it, he should keep it up.

Caps were underestimated by some fans posting here, myself included. It's way too early to call what either of these two teams did so far a choke. Make no mistake tho, whoever loses this series, that is exactly the label their fans will rightfully put on their team.

As a BOLTS fan, I'm confident that label isn't theirs to own.
