Our other, injured defensemen aren't really built for it either. We don't have enough of the perfect defensemen.

He can skate, make a first pass and get the puck to the net. I dont see how he isnt "built for this series" anymore than Lindgren or Gus who are throwing the puck around like a grenade to the point their own teammates dont want to give it to them.

Zac Jones should be starting every game. He is a good fit for this team. Gus hasn't been good since the second month of the year and Raphael Diaz would be an upgrade over Trouba and Lindgren at this point.

Comparing a healthy, unused Jones to a clearly hobbled Fox is totally irrelevant.

Anyway, wouldn't say this is a must win, but it would be good for us to win this one.

Practice reports suggest Chytil is playing and may even get bumped up to 1RW.

Other than that there hasn't been anything to glean just yet. No line rushes.

That was me who called it out. The reality is NHL referee game management is a real thing. If the Rangers commit 20 penalties and Florida only commits 2, what will likely be called is closer to 8 and 6. And we win almost all of our games when we’re given 6 PP opportunities.

You can’t take advantage of a special teams advantage if only three penalties are called all game. You can if 12+ are, even if the proportion of them is slightly out of our favor.

Go dare the refs to call 10 Rangers penalties and 1 Florida penalty. Even if it should happen, it won’t. Because game management is real and honestly stupid. The refs will want to keep it somewhat even. And less 5v5 time is also beneficial for us too.

This is an incredibly smart game plan and I would totally be on board with it, especially against a team like Florida that employs the whole "legal interference" garbagio.

Kakko has done nothing to keep his spot in the lineup. Not that I necessarily agree with Rempe playing over him.
