Kind of a complicated answer. I'm sure some of the 'bigger players' that do behind the scenes DB creating can chime in a bit more, but to me the project seems to be in limbo.

SI won't commit money into the project, Riz is committed to Football Manager full time and only does EHM in his spare time, and there is some uncertainty if there is another update.

Will there be an EHM2 with new features? I would say most likely no - unless Riz takes the project and moves somewhere else with it, or SI puts more people into helping him
There is another update but the build had some major issues and was not able to be publicly released. I've reached out to Riz a few times about it and I haven't heard from him in a while now.

That's too bad. I've played EHM since the freeware days, and I know he was only able to work on it as a side project, but there are still things I prefer about EHM in comparison to FHM, for example.

I have NEVER built a team as dominant in a single season as the one I just finished up with on NHL X Turbo... holy crap... reminder, I don't coach games:

2040-41 end of season record.png

at the same time, I have NEVER even SEEN a player score this many points in a season:
(I mean, aside from McJesus in real life lol)
Demi-WHAT-OV.png

Heres Demidov's career thus far (He is 35 and has a shiny new 4 year contract)
Demi career stats.png

Now, I do have a question about hidden stats, and/or scouting? I have 4 perfect 20-20 scouts, and every single one of them ranks this goalie as "a decent prospect that can step in immediately" and each of them also rank him as a "potential backup goaltender" what gives? here's his attributes:
Demi career stats.png

and here is his scouting reports from one of my 20-20 scouts:

Do any of those scouts have any attribute points in coaching goaltenders? According to the game manual having scouts that have coaching points for positions makes a difference.

Yes, here is Justin Peters attributes:

The goalie is now 25... here are his career numbers, also he lost a point in anticipation (15->14)... all of my coaches still rank him as a backup:
Dube career so far.png

and here are his attributes now at 25:

and actually now that I overlook it, it seems like a lot of his stats have gone down... every physical stat... his anticipation, bravery, teamwork and work rate, and stickhandling all went down 1.

His Blocker, Positioning, and determination all went up by 1...

So that's a difference in -7 in overall attributes... I wonder why? are my coaches maybe not teaching conditioning? lol @xECK29x

You may want to cheat and open up EHM Assistant to see what is going on, maybe low nat fit?

is 68 considered low?

Gabriel D'aigle has a 43, but that mayyy have lowered due to age? he is 37. Used to be considered "Franchise" is now a "Starter"

However Love Harenstam has a 77, and is also 37. Is labelled "Franchise" by the scouts.

Lauri Mesanvirta has a 63 and is considered a "Goalie Phenom". is 23.

Zdenek Marek has a 61 and is a "Starter" at 30.

Jon Fjortoft has a 68 and is a "Backup" at 29.

These goalies were selected as comparisons because they are the ONLY goalies in the entire save file that meets this criteria:

I sorted goalies by attributes, filtering 1 stat point LOWER than Tristan Dube... these guys most closely represent the competition, their attributes are the closest to Dube.

I think this goalie just made the biggest mistake I've EVER seen in game... ever. This was game 7 of the Western conference finals. My team is gray, he is #35:

ooooofffff doesn't even begin to cover it.

Edit: For context, he corralled the puck safely behind his net, and must have fanned on the clearing attempt at the same time the defender got beat for position, as the puck ended up on 19's stick, and into the back of the net.

Sounds like you are viewing the save with the Editor, you should use EHM Assistant to view Save game data while the game is running. MediaFire

@xECK29x I know right now we're talking about nat fit, and how that is/was affecting his stats... this is such a weird case though... here is our current backup goalie, whom each and every one of my scouts rank higher than Dube... even though they have the exact same CA and PA, and Dube has the better reputation across the board:

The game is so heavily based on rep I find that odd, but yea that nat fit is going to lead to a short career.

Hah, I feel you. I had a similar thing happen TWICE in a SCF deciding game. Beyond infuriating.

just one quick comment on loyalty... I wish EHM did a better job of handling it.

There is no reason whatsoever that the first line wing and captain of a 3-peating team, who has his favourite team listed as that team, and his favourite players listed as his 2 line-mates and his goalie on said team... should be accepting a contract at age 39 to go play for another team, for the exact same contract you offered him.

Also this type of thing (not as drastic as what I described mind you) happens every season!

20 seasons with team that drafted you? let's sign a 1 year contract and retire in Minnesota (no offence to Minny lol)

Yes - this happened a lot to me during the EHM 07 days.

Coming soon...

Updated Center Ice Arena logos for all 36 NHLX teams including expansion teams and multiple options for teams with different identities in NHLX and/or with future arena plans (so you'll also be able to use with TBL/Pivot).

And...a new on-ice advertisement graphics package that will create a much more realistic rink in regards to NHL sponsor ad placements...

The fun part of managing a streamlined DB is more time to do stuff like this! :D

Great galloping Gretzkys!

I had completely abandoned this game! I gotta get back into this!

I presume the Steam version is the version to start from?

So I wanted to check something in the non beta version so switched to it, and in doing so it somehow completely broke my game. I can't sim a single day without the game immediately crashing, beta or no beta. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, deleting all related data from my computer, and restarting my computer to no avail.

Anybody with experience troubleshooting have any ideas?

IF you started a sim with a 1.5v DB and downgraded to 1.4.1 it will not work, you can go the other way (1.4.1 saves on 1.5), Are you loading a save or starting a new game? if you are starting a new game what DB are you using? Have you rebooted the computer?
