It sounds like it is all on paper and not in practice since they are no longer in USA Hockey. There is no mention of free-to-play hockey like the other Tier II league, the NAHL.

This is likely because the EHL commisioner is saying he sees the USHL as major junior and the NAHL as Tier I...

Likely reason for all this? They're tired of losing their league members to the USPHL and still pay-to-play as members of the NCDC.

The turf war heats up

Ya, this might be in name only. If its pay-to-play, every player will choose the NAHL over the EHL. Nothing to see here.......That being said, of the tier 3's it could be argued it is the best for players wanting to play high level college hockey.
