Eastern Conference Wild Card Watch

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
It amazes me how the Isles hang around. They are so mid. Credit to them.

It’s even crazier when you see they have the worst PP in the league, the 30th ranked PK, and they have had so many injuries all year, and traded Nelson. Sorokin doesn’t have amazing stats, but he has been fantastic. I think Roy has been an excellent coach for this team.

Now the Rangers have fallen, Ottawa has a cushion, NJ is not falling out of the race, and Montreal & the Isles are fighting for the last spot. Be nice if one of those teams put a winning streak together.

Rangers kind of showed their true selves here. Ah well.

The cushion is only 3pts on Montreal and they have a matchup in april. So not as comfortable as it seems. IMO, there's a big gap between the top 6 teams and the wildcards. When everyone's healthy of course.

Yeah, I knew about their special teams too . Sorokin is great, no doubt

Jackets have 1 goal in the last 4 games... No wait I don't think you understood me, not one goal in each of the last 4 games, but one goal in the last 4 games.
If they don't turn it around tonight, it may be the beginning of the end for the playoffs this season.
Have teams finally figured out how to neutralize the Jackets offense? I don't think the Jackets scoring well above their expected goals for was due to luck, but I think a mixture of a strong system, injuries actually bringing up players that teams didn't scout for, and naturally quite a few players being talented made the Jackets score far more than people would expect earlier on.

I think the clock has struck 12 and the Cinderella story of a season for the Jackets is over.

I am genuinely interested to know how an Australian Detroit fan got to hate Montreal with a passion.
Please share if you have time!

Born and raised in center of the universe until the turn of the century. Was lucky our family were Leaf season ticket holders. As much as I loved Toronto and most sports teams, Yyzerman and then Lidstron were my favourite players, add the 80's Tigers and Pistons. I gravitated towards Detroit. Hating Montreal and then Ottawa was part of the deal in Toronto. The 80's Leafs were hard on us all.
