its BackstromeI think it's backstrom actually and it's just a really good disguise. They gave him stem cells and facial surgery so he looks like 2010 backstrom again.

Leafs never should have gave up on him. Haven't seen the Caps but hope he's doing well, guy used to hit like a f***ing truck with a hard slapper. Only issue in Toronto was his footspeed, he got burned badly twice in the playoffs leading to two game winning goals against. Still wish we kept him.Sandin may have arrived as well

No way this guy was being serious right?
We didn't listen!
It seems clear that the Capitals believe they can work with people who the knock against them is their skating. Sandin and Strome being people who come to mind. So far it’s working, look at a guy like Protas, he looks like a different skater this year, McMichael as well. Even their first round pick this year is touted as a guy with a lot of intelligence and skill, but maybe the skating isn’t quite there.Leafs never should have gave up on him. Averaging over an assist per game (26/34 points being assists). Only 37 shots in 23 games.34 points in 23 games.
He's still not an amazing skater, but despite prior comments, he's very solid defensively. (It's easy to see if you watch him regularly, but for those who want numbers: he plays on a line with Ovi and they're doing really well 5v5, so who do you think is playing defense on that line?)
The fact it took so long can't really be considered a great success. Too many struggles early.

He also doesn't have the size to play in the playoffs the way the Leafs want to play...big and mean.Leafs never should have gave up on him.
